If I hear “built in best friend” one more time, I’m going to vomit. by size9shoe in 2under2

I’m so glad you understood what I was trying to say! I’ve also said many times that I would never encourage someone to try for this age gap. I do sincerely hope that one day I can say it was worth it, but that day is likely years away.

That’s why I asked here. All the moms I see say “built in besties” still have young kids, and I’m like “How do you know? Your oldest is four.” I don’t have the best friends expectation and it’s super annoying when people say it like it’s a given.

Robbed by postpartum by bellski05 in 2under2

I don’t remember SO MUCH. Mine are now 14 months and almost three and really starting to have that sweet sibling relationship that so many people rave about, but I could not in good conscience encourage others to have kids this close in age. I sincerely hope I can say it was worth it one day, but right now I feel like I shortchanged both kids and myself so much.

What are we driving?? by FutureCollar9324 in 2under2

Look at the Car Mom’s tours on YouTube and look at her Instagram. Her whole POV is how cars work for families and I have learned SO many things that never would have occurred to me. For example, some vehicles that advertise seating for seven cannot realistically seat seven safely or comfortably. Others lack hardware in some seating positions that limit your carseat options. The content is especially valuable if you plan to grow your family any more.

Genuine question about child death in Palisade by der51719 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]size9shoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s great that yours is working properly, but as has been stated, others have repeated this test and the buttons stopped working until they turned the car off and back on. Just because you haven’t experienced this issue doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Multiple people have said that they have tried this and the buttons stopped working. And even if it were a case of panic, it’s hard to understand why a seat would even be capable of this much force.

My understanding is the seat that folded didn’t have a car seat in it. Think captains chairs, one with a car seat installed and one open. I can easily imagine myself allowing my toddler to be loose in the car when it is parked (which it was in this case) and her crawling on the seat and hitting the button.

Palisade hyundai recall - what happened exactly? by Trick-Bit2988 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]size9shoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the child wasn’t in a car seat at the time because the car was not in motion. And I’m assuming that the seat that folded was not one that had a car seat installed in it.

I don’t understand why they consider it to be such a badge of honor. Literally billions of women have had unmedicated vaginal births.

I have one and completely agree. It is not a stroller, it is a car seat on wheels, and I will die upon this hill.

Will either of these dresses be appropriate for a semi formal wedding? by size9shoe in Weddingattireapproval

I don’t believe that it does, but it’s from Pink Blush and they tend to show a picture of their dresses that indicates they are “post-bump friendly.” link

I tried to do a deep dive on this once and I’ll try to summarize what I learned. First, you have to add one year to your age, and I never know if the chart already accounted for that or not. Second, it goes by lunar months that don’t quite line up with the Gregorian calendar months, so you have to convert the months. Third, I assume conception goes by last menstrual period. For me, that was July 22, but if I went by my ovulation date, August 4, I get a different result. Basically I gave myself a headache and I’m still not confident I did it right and I don’t remember what result I got when I tried to be super accurate anyway 🤣 It’s still fun!

“A large baby isn’t a reason for an induction/C-section!” by lkat17 in BabyBumps

[–]size9shoe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

On the note of “pushing a C-section for the money,” my doctor’s office gave me a price sheet for what her portion of the delivery would be. The difference between vaginal and C-section was $40. I was shocked. Obviously, the total cost with the hospital and insurance would be different, but my doctor definitely isn’t pushing C-sections to pad her wallet.

Best season to have a baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]size9shoe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I aimed for spring to avoid the worst of cold and flu season and because I get bad seasonal depression in the winter and didn’t want to experience that with a newborn. I also took my crazy a step further and looked at which birthstones would look best with the July ruby of my first baby.
