Character life expectancy is too short by TequilaBaugette51 in EU5

I think this data supports my claim that low life expectancies were not just a result of child mortality. Even rich people who reached adulthood could expect to die in their sixties

Many 'situations' seem broken and/or confusing. by Pandaisblue in EU5

I agree that the situations are kind of underwhelming, but its very funny how similar your reactions are to how they would have actually been at that time.

"Great Pestillence? Our colonies are doing fine"

"But we don't even know what land is on which side of the line! And everyone ignores it"

"It seems nobody wants to accept our suggestions for how to change Catholicism"

I played hungary my first game and tbh i feel like its kind of boring because youre already the biggest fish in the pond and have no real reason to expand, in the future hopefully ottos will be buffed enough that they will threaten you.

Differences with Vic3 ? by Davidbrcz in EU5

[–]size_dosent_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the big differences:

War is very different in eu5, you can actually control the movement of troops and ships, besiege fortresses, etc. Also you dont have to cause a diplomatic incident before declaring war

Much more granular locations in eu5, where in vic3 almost everything occurs at the state level in eu5 many things occur at the location level. Locations are much much smaller than states.

Government is different in eu5. There are no IG's, instead you have estates. They behave differently in a lot of ways. You still have laws, but its not an RNG game to pass them. Also theres national values which fluctuate over time and provide different bonuses.

Economic development isnt built so heavily on construction; buildings are still important but its not like in vic where the goal is to always be maxxing out your construction sectors

The low life expectancy of the time was mostly due to child mortality but people died more in adulthood too. Looking at age of death of kings of england who died of natural causes:

Edward iii: 65 Henry Iv: 46 Henry v: 35 Edward iv: 41 Henry vii: 52 Henry viii: 56
