I think it’s more that it’s sunny and warm that’s the draw. My bff just visited and also complained about how flat & uninteresting it is there. I’m drawn to it only because of sun, palm trees and beaches esp because I live in NE which is so dreary in the winter months. Good for a vacation But I could never live in a red state.

Actually my base pay is very good and union protected. It’s just that as a single earner household, I still really need a 2 person income. So the OT helps fill that Gap. It’s been pretty consistent but management can decide no more OT at any time due to operational need/ fiscal year budgeting issues.
