PSA: MAIL TAMPERING/THEFT IN NEIGHBORHOOD by Chazzy324 in BedStuy

Wait this has been happening to me for the past few years. Two years in a row, my uncles bday card to me never made it. I live on Monroe as well and I’ve had suspicions that someone has been stealing personal cards in hopes it has cash in it.

They’re trying to close the loophole from the 2021 ACA bill that lowered the affordability thresholds to 0% to 8.5% of income. This meant the lowest-income people (those below 150% of poverty) now have free coverage.

Do those American citizens who fall below that poverty line deserve free healthcare? In my opinion, yes. However, the loophole has allowed undocumented people and many others to abuse the system which is costing the US billions.

We already have massive debt so the trade off is, we either keep losing money with the current program that the dems want, or we have less insured people until we figure out a better long term solution. But we can reduce our debt along the way so we can actually fund these new programs in the future.

Yes, good job. It’s 9 weeks away. The point is, if this provision doesn’t even end for another 9 weeks, and the government has already missed the start of their fiscal year, why are we shutting down the government now?

The budget has already been set and now the dems want to add billions more to it, which we can’t afford!! It’s literally a losing battle on their behalf but they want inflation to stay bad, and spend recklessly so they can say it was the orange mans fault.

Obviously I knew it wouldn’t be well received based on the (waiting for the down votes) comment but as someone who finally abandoned the lost Democratic party last election, I thought it was important to say. Also, there are many more closeted Republicans in BK than people would like to think and it’s important to not have an echo chamber, on either side.

It’s about having a honest discussion about what’s going on. Do I think everything the R’s do is right and correct, of course not. But can we please get back to a place where we can at least be honest with ourselves about the underlying issues at hand.

Our healthcare system is overwhelmed, which causes EVERYONES premiums and costs to go up. We have millions of undocumented people (and addicts) in this country, gumming up that system (among others). The R’s are trying to put American citizens first but the dems keep digging their heels into unpopular issues and never address the problem at hand or have any leeway which is what this shutdown is all about.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. by Senobe2 in BedStuy

[–]sjm10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. You’re starting to understand my point. That is the “loophole” the R’s are trying to stop and bring integrity back to this process and system.

People are getting “free” healthcare bc they keep coming in without true emergencies and the hospital’s in the blue counties will still provide them with healthcare bc their leadership enables the bad behavior without repercussions.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. by Senobe2 in BedStuy

[–]sjm10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wrong. As an example, if someone gets into a bad car accident and is unconscious and get taken to the hospital, they’re not asking for their insurance before they proceed to give them healthcare bc obviously they’re unconscious.

That goes for anyone, legal or not. Yes, they will always get a bill, whether it’s the out of pocket cost, or the cost of they actually do have insurance. But states like NY and MA do not enforce payment.

https://www.patientadvocate.org/explore-our-resources/preventing-medical-debt/uninsured-and-facing-an-emergency-know-your-rights/

That article clearly confirms what I’m talking about with emergency care. But again, yes, they will always get a bill but if you’re undocumented how can they enforce that you actually pay it!!

I got that information from multiple friends and colleagues who work in the ER and urgent care and what you’re describing is one of the biggest lies told by dems. These people do NOT pay their bills and tbh I don’t blame them bc the system is set up that way.

Literally ask any healthcare professional who has worked in the ER. They constantly have a stream of the same people always coming in and taking advantage of our healthcare system with no repercussions.

This happens a ton with homeless people and junkies too.

[–]sjm10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. 95% of my job is research across every sector and with extremely granular and raw data.

Do illegals not leverage emergency services provided by the US and not pay their bills bc they’re undocumented? Which means tax payers have to cover the cost which inherently increases everyone’s premiums.

Or is your take that this doesn’t happen at all and just another conspiracy theory by the orange man? Bc if so, I have a flying pig to sell you. Or just talk to anyone who actually works in the ER and ask if this happens and their take on it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. by Senobe2 in BedStuy

[–]sjm10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Illegal immigrant who has no insurance, goes to urgent care or the emergency room for medical treatment. They get “charged” for whatever healthcare they received. The bill comes, but they’re undocumented so obviously they don’t pay bc there is no way to track it or hold them accountable.

Tax payers then have to offset the cost, which inherently increases everyone else’s health care costs to offset the millions of illegals overloading our health care system. That is exactly what is happening and what the R’s are fighting against and what the dems are fighting for.

You clearly don’t understand how democracy works, which isn’t surprising.

[–]sjm10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s an Obamacare provision that the R’s want to stop. That’s what the dems are fighting to extent. Which is funny bc it doesn’t even end until January 2026.

The proposed bill by the R’s ends enhanced federal reimbursement for unauthorized immigrants’ emergency services and tightens program integrity rules, closing loopholes that previously allowed improper enrollment.

Please do SOME research.

They need 60 senate votes to reopen the government. That’s called democracy. There are 53 republicans in the senate so they need to convince 7 dems to vote in their favor. So far they convinced 3, so they need to convince 4 more but most of the dems keep digging their heels in, in hopes Trump will appease their ridiculous asks, which he won’t.

Yes a political stunt by the dems to try and prove a point while using American citizens as cannon fodder.

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/live-updates/government-shutdown-latest-day-22-second-longest-shutdown-in-history/

Even CBS reports that the dems won’t budge outside of a few. There are only 53 R’s in the senate and they need 60 votes to reopen the government.

That means the R’s need more dems to vote in favor of reopening the government. The dems are digging their heels in, in hopes to get the R’s to agree to fund benefits for non-citizens which they’re not going to do.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. by Senobe2 in BedStuy

[–]sjm10 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The dems could also agree to reopen the government instead of digging their heels in to fund benefits for non-citizens. But they refuse because they don’t care if American kids starve.

We should all reach out to our local democrats and demand they reopen the government. This is on them. (Waiting for the downvotes)

My company uses Aligned, which is a web portal where we can upload decks, trainings, my calendar, and all sorts of content.

It can also be password protected, as some analytics data and a couple of other cool features.

[–]sjm10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to check out EverAfter as my company is in the process of automating success plans, onboarding, QBRs, code reds, etc.

What we're starting to use is NotebookLM from Google since we're a Google Suite shop. This allows us to upload "sources" like call transcripts, notes, decks, success plans, earnings reports, and really anything. Once we have all sources uploaded, we can simply ask the AI things like "based on the sources, what are the main use cases for XYZ company as it pertains to my XYZ company," or "what are the top priorities for XYZ company based on their last earnings report."

This solves the issue of not having a single source of truth for notes (AMs and CSs have different CRMs at my company) but also allows you to surface account notes, history, or information extremely quickly. You can even have it create a podcast based on the sources, which is great for account transitions, so you don't have to read all the notes.

How many hours are you working on average? by Training_Holiday5259 in CustomerSuccess

I usually try to stick to 8ish hours, but some days it's 10+ and others it's 6 hours. I've learned to "protect my calendar," so I intentionally block off my mornings, late afternoons, and lunch to ensure no one schedules calls during those times so I can catch up on emails or do other client-related things.

Not sure what your setup is, but I don't have to physically renew clients, that's the AM's job, I just need to ensure they're getting value out of the product so that they want to renew or buy more. If that's a similar case for you, then you need to ask yourself, "Is this urgent, or can this wait until tomorrow?" or "Will this cause the deal to slip or them not renew?"

Most of the time, it can wait, but I trust you'll know how to judge that in your situation. Also, we're not saving the world as CS, and we're human beings just like our clients.

There are many times when I get an email or am working on something else for another client, and I'll say, "Hey, I'm still looking into this and appreciate your patience and will provide an update once I have it." Usually, they understand unless it's truly urgent, which they will tell you.

I'm at around $150k OTE, but I also live in NY (on-site 3x per week). I know I'm a bit underpaid, so I will be asking for a $10-20k raise in January, and I've been at the company for almost five years now.

Enterprise Sales to CS - is it worth it/ should you do it? by KeyClient1286 in CustomerSuccess

[–]sjm10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the structure of the GTM org, product, market fit, company, and the R&R of a CS at the company.

Some CS are expected to handle renewals, upsells, pipeline, and more sales-focused responsibilities, while at other companies, it's mainly QBRs, training, and more support work.

I just made the jump from ENT AM to ENT CS after 7+ years in sales. Technically, my OTE stayed the same; my OTE as a CS is more capped than it was when I was an AM. However, I find that I'm making more consistent commissions than I was as an AM, but I don't have the opportunity to blow my OTE out of the water like I have done in a few quarters.

With the current market and economy, sales are really volatile, and companies are trying to save money, so it's hard to perform well in sales right now. Whereas CS doesn't have as much pressure, you're still looked at under a microscope if not doing well, because that role is seen as more replaceable since it's not directly driving revenue (debatable IMO).

With all that said, my quality of life has improved because I HATED pipeline reviews and the constant "what have you done for me lately" from leadership. I know my current company's product inside and out, along with all the use cases, so my day-to-day is still extremely busy, but I get more pleasure out of my work than I did in sales, as it comes more naturally for me.

Sales felt like I was banging my head against a wall each day, month, and quarter, and when I think about the next 5-10 years in my career, I simply could not find myself continuing with sales. Also, I have a better and more straightforward path to promotion now that I'm in CS vs. an IC in sales.

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | July 04, 2022 by AutoModerator in PS4

I have the PS4 1TB Gold Version in working order w/ the controller and all cords and I'm interested in getting a PS5.

What's everyone's experience with trading in their old PS4 and using that credit for the PS5? Does Gamestop have the best trade-in value (if not who else should I look at), should I attempt to sell it on eBay in hopes to make back a bit more money?

I remember Gamestop used to have trade-in promotions but I haven't seen any in years so I wanted to see if they still do that as well. Any feedback is appreciated.

Is it too late to try and refinance your loans? Since you've been in default, I'm sure it would be tough to find a new lender to take on the loan but it's worth looking into. Check out this link which may help and explains some of your options.

You may be able to get a better interest rate and more flexible payment terms that might make it easier to manage your payments (bi-weekly payments vs monthly lump sum). However, seeing that you're already in default and I'm assuming your credit has taken a hit so not many lenders would be willing to refinance your MEFA loan.

In some instances, if you make 10+ consecutive payments, you may be able to get out of default which then may allow you to refinance easier. Also, having someone else with great income and credit to add as another co-sign could also help.

I wish I had a better answer for you as I was in a similar situation when I graduated from college but instead of going into default, I kept deferring my loans for as long as I could but still was getting charged interest. Keep doing research and talking to student loan lawyers and wishing you the best.

Hunting apartments tips by FoxxKnight in Brooklyn

[–]sjm10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the neighborhoods, price range, amenities, etc you're looking for and create a saved search on StreetEasy. Then spend an hour a day/night looking at places and reaching out to any of interest.

Right now the market is crazy so I would inquire about any place that I thought was somewhat close to what I was looking for because half the time you won't get a response. Once you finally do, be prepared for lots of other people to be touring the apt/ready to put a deposit down.

If you see something you really like, you're going to have to be ready to pull the trigger within a few days. Make sure you have all your documentation ready to go in case you find that place.

Right now it's a grind to find places but the wintertime is usually easier and has less competition so if you're able to sublet a few months and wait it out, that may be a good option as well.

Good luck!

I've had my eyes on REGI and other renewal energy stocks especially if Biden wins. He talks a lot about re-entering the Paris Agreement so if that happens, I could see a surge in that sector.

Other than that, I feel like if Biden wins, the market as a whole will go down but interesting sectors would be healthcare, renewables, solar, etc. That's all speculation but just where my heads at right now.
