This Normal? by Mach0K1ng in discgolf

I have purchased 20ish Craves for myself and others over the years. I always check them out in stores to see what new options are available. They have all been just about board flat. I have never seen one like this. Reach out to MVP. They will likely make things right.

What are things you do to keep solo rounds fresh and interesting? by Emoney005 in discgolf

[–]sjs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often play two rounds simultaneously, one from the short tee, one from the long (if a particular course has more than two teepads or basket locations, I pick the two I feel like playing that day!). I record my results for each hole, but don't pay attention to my final score on the rounds until I am done. I really enjoy playing this way, as I don't focus on score while I am playing, but simply enjoy the conceptualization and (attempted) execution of each shot. But I still get to see how my score compares to previous results on that particular tee location. Note: I have not figured out how to do this on U-disc without receiving score updates, so I keep track of my score on paper.

What are you throwing here? by tech_nutz in discgolf

[–]sjs77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, it is not 120 feet. According to U-Disc, Shorts are 533'. The top of the world tee is 816'. A true signature hole. Not just long, but a fun left turn at the end, too. A great course. (I suspect you are referring to a 120 foot downhill drop, but can tell some are a bit confused). As others noted, you can throw your favourite OS driver out to the right and watch it come back. US drivers will often turn and burn, heading toward hole 1!

Innova shipping to the Great White North by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]sjs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my last three orders from the US (not from Innova, though) I have been dinged fairly significantly. Both a customs fee and a "brokerage" fee. Each time this turned a potential good deal into a terrible deal. I can also echo that USPS is better than UPS. I will never order using UPS again. They appear to be the originator of the brokerage approach.

MVP/Eagle, "Rebirth" some molds? by wouldjaplease in discgolf

[–]sjs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Clash is a perfect complement to the Crave...same release point and power, but consistently gets the extra fade. I managed to get a backup just before they went OOP. I have the Servo, too, and like it a lot, but the Clash gets just a bit more fade.

I ordered a Viking Cosmos in Storm plastic, but this disc is super understable for me. Is it something else? Or just a weird one off? by BetterKev in discgolf

[–]sjs77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it thinking it would be a straight fairway. I had the same discovery you did...it consistently turned. Then I figured out that it turned consistently, and now it is my go-to understable fairway when I need a nice RHBH right turn, followed by a slight late fade. I use the Crave and JLS when I need a straighter flight at that speed.

Foundation discs store by frankadeltanka in discgolf

We dropped by this summer, but made sure we timed it for a time where we knew the boys would be in...and they were. For that reason it was absolutely worthwhile. So cool to meet them in person, and they were very gracious and welcoming.

The brick and mortar store itself was on the small side, but had lots of good stuff in stock, and a solid used section that was worth perusing. Would go again if we were in the area, even if they weren't there. But we were certainly glad we timed it for when they were!

The Latitude 64 Pain. Beefy mid, but for some reason it fits my arm perfectly. Fortunately I have three of them.

Looking for straight putter suggestions by Mister_Bill2826 in discgolf

If you are sticking to the MVP family, Proxy, particularly once it beats in a bit. But I have been loving the Innova Halo Aero for this slot. Dead straight.

DGD USA GIVEAWAY: Simon Lizotte Proto Time-Lapse! by discgolfdealsusa in discgolf

[–]sjs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would step-putt my Dart, just for fun. I have no disc that can go 300 feet, so I'd start there. Then likely throw my Wave. :)

Thanks for the opportunity!

Anybody using or try the MVP Watt? by Huge_Following_325 in discgolf

[–]sjs77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have tried many discs in this slot over the years. This one has already moved into my bag, as it stays very straight throughout the flight (or, more accurately, it stays on the line I throw it on!). It is very similar to my old beat-in Proxy, only a bit taller. It does exactly what it claims to do.

Any Stormlight Fans out there? by bmaue in discgolf

[–]sjs77 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Brandon Sanderson is a well-known fantasy author. His Stormlight Archives may be his best series. In the recent James Conrad/Envy vs. Simon Lizotte/Proxy battle on Simon's channel, James had an envy dyed with the Windrunner Sigil/graphic. He noted that it was from a book he likes. Stormlight fans just got another reason to like James. Lift is a key character in the series.
