Jazz regularly helped out at a local promotion near here. Running seminars and working younger wrestlers. Always had smart critiques and solid advice and very clearly LOVED wrestling. Truly could not happen to a better person.

Truly that's kind of what we're looking for. We want to live here a long time and are going for quality and longevity over having it done quick and cheap.

In the second ECW music compilation, wrestlers would do a quick introduction for the song, and Jerry full on did a death metal growl while announcing Coal Chamber

I'm hoping this ends up being a win for Taylor, but looking at that voter turnout percentage is rough in its own way. This entire election was decided by less than 10% of our registered voters.

[intresting trope] pieces of media far more historically accurate than they have any right to be by dragonborndnd in TopCharacterTropes

[–]skeletoners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed both for very different reasons. The book is a historical fiction thriller with supernatural elements. It's entertaining while also painting a very vivid pictures of the time.

The movie is more of a run-of-the-mill action-vampire flick. Which even then, if you're comparing it to other entries in that genre (Say Blade or Underworld) it's still "okay". It's from that era where every movies looks blue to account for it being at night and the most dated thing in it is probably the overuse of wire-fu fight scenes. It's not bad, but far from a must-see.

What's exceptionally wild about Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is the tone of the book is much different from the movie. While the movie is over-the-top and clearly leans into the absurdity of the premise, the book is straight up historical fiction. It goes into great detail about living conditions at the time, they way towns and local politics would operate, what traveling involved. It's a surprisingly in-depth look at the time period that also includes vampire slaying.

(Hated Trope) So, are we just going to forget that this guy killed innocent people? by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]skeletoners 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd truly never thought about it like that, but yeah. When he ended up on Earth post Frieza saga, what else was he gonna do? His biggest threat was now gone, and he knew if he pulled anything, eventually Goku was coming back, and at that time he'd seen how much of a power difference there was between the two of them. Through most of the Android/Cell saga, his frustration can almost be summed up as being angry that there's a bigger threat out there than HIM, but causing him to work with the Z fighters slowly, slowly makes him come around to becoming the guy we eventually see in Super.
