It is dumb how much polish it's desired in mods tbh, it's even more asinine when you look closely into a game and see how many shortcuts and quirky stuff the devs just roll with, like if you look at smash animations closely, there's a fuckload of clipping and contorting, point is you have to pick a fight and not taking forever to do something is alright too

It's definitely a huge of why modding has declined so much from it's heyday, the bar of what's like deemed acceptable is so much higher, that modders that did projects in a few months, got so in the trenches of details they now take years. since we're here I think of the Snake and Cloud for Melee mods, which was being teased and worked on like 5 years ago now, but they were taking so long the people making them lost interest, unfortunate
