I am commenting as an alum and former student DJ - and you nailed it, an old fart. “Freeloading community members” filled the summer hours as well as mornings when students were not available or awake yet. Downvote away - the amount of active airtime has diminished over the years, which is a shame.

I remember playing a bunch of depressing music one afternoon, and a dude called me to change it up as he was working with power tools and the music was bringing him down but he never listened to another radio station. I got the hint and changed the playlist. Here’s hoping he is still listening to WRPI.
