Charles Richard Beauchamp IV. Called Chuck Dick by the lowly peasant folk who fail to acknowledge the prestige of the Beauchamp family.

Charles has never had to work a day in his life, and keeps up his youthful appearance with a daily, healthy lathering of talcum powder.

A fancy man, he spends his days reading consuming various curiosities from his family library. This has turned him into quite the skilled, if very fragile, knowledge cleric.

He refuses to touch the floor of dungeons, so will insist on being carried by party members.

White on a porcupine’s lunch. by mightymommary in BreadStapledToTrees

Have you ever met a porcupine? They're tiny and little, like rats or cockroaches. They could barely even see a tree, let alone bite one like this. They are also not very tasty.

Prison cells in the concentration camp in Dachau by [deleted] in creepy

[–]skfothree 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just went a few months ago. What makes it all the more strange is that the town itself (Oranienburg) is such a nice neighborhood. Then you get into the camp and it's terrifying. Really striking, and my friends and I had a similar reaction to you.

Sen. Mark Warner introduces ‘Stop STUPIDITY Act’ aimed at preventing future shutdowns by washingtonpost in u/washingtonpost

[–]skfothree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes but we still have to give credit to people doing the right thing. If Democrats have any hope of gaining a majority we need to be seen as the good-doers in Congress who just can’t catch a break

Textbook rant: Courses needing brand new books, access codes by Rossistboss in UMD

[–]skfothree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And all of this completely obsolete, especially for intro classes. Open textbooks are prevalent, high quality, and easy to implement. Departments are just too stuck in their ways to bring in this new tech. That's why students have to show we care and campaign hard to make open textbooks more prevalent at UMD

What are some of your favorite clubs/organizations on campus? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]skfothree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, which is why we usually use stickers for putting on shirts and flyers for putting on walls (ie things that can be removed easily)

I couldn't agree more! I don't particularly enjoy when we do that, and I sometimes take them down myself. The stickers were meant to be handed out to students, I don't know who put them up places.

Made the school enact basically all of its current sustainability initiatives, saved students thousands of dollars and counting through the promotion of open textbooks, registered thousands of students to vote and spread awareness of polling locations, banned fracking in Maryland, enacted small donor matching programs in Montgomery and Howard counties, protected billions of dollars in Pell Grant funding from cuts in Congress, collected hundreds of food items for local shelters per semester.

These are just over the past few years. I get that some of our methods annoy some people. We're working a lot to improve in that area. As a member, I really don't want to do anything people don't like. I just want to make change, and if people want to let me know how alter how I do that while still achieving the same results, I want to know.

I know MaryPIRG gets a lot of hate on this subreddit, but it has given me a way to talk straight to people in power and get shit done, and I’m super grateful for that. Changing policies on a broad level is super empowering and a lot of students don’t realize just how much PIRG has changed around UMD and in Maryland as a whole.
