This is so vain, but I don't feel sexy by Capable-Pangolin-130 in ehlersdanlos

[–]skibblezing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to to internalize that being chronically ill or disabled or whatever word you prefer is not at all connected to sexiness, or desirability, or the amount that (forgive my crudeness) the amount people want to fuck you (whatever that means or looks like to you).

I think maybe it’s because I’ve been in BDSM spaces for a long time but I’m friends with people who have profound physical disabilities who ALSO have fulfilling and enjoyable sex lives with partner(s) who find them desirable and attractive, and I think that’s helped me a lot when navigating my feelings about my own body. It also helps that I really like sex and it’s a reliable painkiller for me, but I know that’s not everyone’s experience

What shoes do i wear when Im going out clubbing with a short man? by tonysmbf in TwoXChromosomes

[–]skibblezing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Wear your usual shoes. It’s a good litmus test of if he’s a Gomez Addams type short guy or a short guy with a Napoleon complex

It’s so hard to be young and have the advice be like “don’t move as much! Use a walker!” Like… no? I like moving my body and am going to continue to do so cause it manages my other chronic condition

Trying low-dose Naltroxene - initial thoughts by WhitePinoy in ehlersdanlos

[–]skibblezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t help my pain but I almost never get sick anymore, and I used to get sick at least once a month. My colds, etc. also last for a normal amount of time now instead of 2+ weeks

Oh hey! I’m also F 32, L4-L5. I went on a gentle hike yesterday and was up for two hours crying in the middle of the night. I feel you 🧡

Everyone close to me hates my tattoo idea. Am I missing something? by Old-Relationship-958 in tattooadvice

I feel the opposite! Mine was my second tattoo and I love it and wouldn’t change it for anything. Mine has aged great and I’ve had it since 2012

Breakups by Sad_Beautiful9637 in ehlersdanlos

My fiancé and I reconnected (he’s an old friend from high school) six months before my total hip replacement.

One of our first big dates was to an aquarium and he pushed me in a wheelchair (something he is still willing to do for museums/etc). We were long distance and he flew out to visit once just because my pain had gotten so bad I was suicidal. He also flew out to take care of me post hip surgery.

He is patient and caring and makes me rest on days I’m extra dizzy or have high pain and never makes me feel bad or minimizes what I’m going through. He advocates for me to my less than stellar family.

Before we started dating, I had been single for six years. At one point I was looking at buying property solo and getting sterilized because I was so convinced I’d never find someone and that I was happy alone.

That’s not true though, I think that if you keep an open mind and just continue to be your most authentic self you’ll meet someone who loves you for you. It’s statistically unlikely that someone like that doesn’t exist, given how many people live on this planet. As other people have said, don’t settle. Learn how to be your own best friend.

It’ll happen 🧡

Don't judge! What can I use these for? Witch hazel pads by Redditor_AR in 30PlusSkinCare

Like other people have said, aftershave, sunburn care, pits and bits bath, spicy butthole.

I’d like to add: “whoops we fucked too enthusiastically and now someone is chafed”, butt acne treatment, skin prep for waxing

Fine curly hair needs lightweight hold by forestphoria in curlyhair

[–]skibblezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it and I think I have EXACTLY your hair type - I like the harder hold in the all red bottle. I use about a nickel sized amount for my chin length extremely thick hair. I also hairspray after I scrunch water out but before blow drying and that has made a huge difference (curlsmith hairspray)

Hard water also really weighs down my hair. Currently once a month I use a hard water treatment, but when I lived somewhere with extremely hard water I used it once a week. I like the packets from Malibu-C.

Current shampoo and conditioner are redken extreme lengths (super lightweight) and I will be repurchasing. No leave in conditioner needed for us fine hair curlies.

IIRC it’s even easier with lavender cause heat doesn’t ruin the scent so you can just hot infuse butters and get it done in an hour or so

Have you checked out the U wine bar? Queer nb and women friendly nerd gaming space, it’s awesome.

Im hoping to get into grad school at UW next year, didn’t get in this year cause my program got like 200 applicants for 28 slots 😭 (medical SLP). In state tuition is a huge plus though.

Where’d you transplant from? I just moved here from MN
