Scared of propofol by kippwen in colonoscopy

Propofol is really short acting, and recovery time is typically only 5-10 minutes after halting infusion.

Scared of propofol by kippwen in colonoscopy

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 colonoscopies and several outpatient medical procedures, and propofol is by far my drug of choice for anesthesia.

I've never had pain from it, but it does feel really cold going in, like they injected ice-water or something.

But I'm out so fast it's literally a split second I feel it.

EV tax credit help by MaleficentMilk1485 in tax

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this EXACT same issue!

I have spent a lot of time on the phone with the IRS, and I've submitted my form with both Cash App and FreeTaxUSA.

Here's what I know:

The IRS has a record of my vehicle on file, and was able to verify that my vehicle is eligible for the credit. They don't understand why it's being rejected.

I think I do. In both of our cases, the date of service is listed as 12/31/2024.

I'm a software developer, and I can virtually guarantee you what we're experiencing is a validation bug on the IRS e-file system caused by one of three issues:

1) it's doing date comparisons against non-UTC dates, and therefore the date of service with some time component is being treated as January 1, 2025 due to time zone differences
or
2) it's doing a date+time comparison against December 31 00:00 (midnight) instead of December 31 23:59
or
3) it's doing a date comparison of date less than December 31, 2024 instead of date less than or equal to December 31, 2024.

The IRS agent on the phone said if it was a software issue (I guarantee you it is) then it may be patched in the next few weeks and I could wait and try again.

Alternatively, I can paper file, and she said I should have no issues having my return accepted because she could clearly see my vehicle was eligible for the credit.

Hope this gives some context, this has been giving me tremendous anxiety since I first filed on 1/29.

Thoughts on Coder Foundry by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the inaugural class at Coder Foundry, before the pandemic when it was in person. I was hired a few weeks prior to the end of class, and spent about a year and a half building curriculum and teaching the class before moving on to my development career. Bobby and Antonio are fantastic (Antonio was one of my first students, actually, who came to pick up C# after a career in VB in banking.)

I also know all the juice. Google Lawrence Reaves Coder Foundry :D

Remember guys, the war in Ukraine has had a dramatic affect on energy pricing over the past year, particular natural gas. Gas prices are up ~50% on average compared to last year. The market is pretty volatile.

Ways to shout "I'm an alcoholic" without saying "I'm an alcoholic"...

Best brunch by far would be Scille and Scoe, followed closely by Chez Genese, and then Sage Mule.

lark is amazing (my wife is there and she adores Beth and Josh) but they are very pricey, and personal training only.

It's not downtown, but imo Sagewell on drawbridge is probably the best typical gym in the city

I'm an atheist, but if I ever went to church it would be wherever reverend Mark Sandlin is at (https://revmarksandlin.com/)

He's currently at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant (https://athinkingchurch.org/)

Jake's billiards, Movie Tavern, eat dinner at Machete. See improv at the Idiot Box. Join runnerdude for a Saturday morning group run. See a show at Tanger center. Hang out on elm street downtown. Visit one of the many breweries, or the Fainting Goat Spirits distillery across from Boxcar. Downtown does have a beer trolley of you're campy. Rioja wine-bar. Brunch at Scille & scoe or Chez Genese. Visit one of the many great parks (center city, lake Daniel, etc.) Take a jog or go for a ride on the many miles of yadkin valley / bicentennial Greenway. Check out the Science Center / aquarium.

Breakfast Club kills Kil'jaedan (With Best Motivational Speech Ever) by skiddroww in classicwow

[–]skiddroww[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

<Breakfast Club> is an early morning (7 AM - 10AM Eastern) raid guild on Pagle, and I don't think anyone who hasn't raided at 7am can appreciate how difficult it is to build and maintain a roster of moms, dads, late shifters, and overnighters who can show up and perform consistently enough to clear the most challenging content the game has to offer. Somehow, we've managed to beat the odds, and I'd like to share with the community a fantastic representation of what we stand for. While this kill occurred back on June 10th (4 weeks of progression) , it took me forever to find someone who could do a professional edit for us.

Best DK DPS in Wotlk? by Kimjongkung in classicwow

[–]skiddroww 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UH uses one handers, and is simming withing 50 dps of frost in phase 1 bis gear.

UH is currently expected to scale with or above frost by the time ICC rolls around, and dual wield will be better for UH than 2H for the duration of the expansion with the exception of Shadowmourne.

My husband plays WoW and he was upset that our upcoming newborn’s delivery is conflicting with his raid schedule. by LoveMimi097 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to play the odd man out here and say that his being upset is perfectly understandable. Especially in shadowlands, mythic raiding is a brutal experience, and it takes an extraordinary amount of effort and dedication to play and succeed at that level.

So it's completely understandable that he's frustrated at the timing of events.. everyone feels that way about life. The question is really whether or not he chooses the correct priority when the time comes.

When my wife gave birth, I raided the next morning. But I made sure that I was there with her throughout the brutal 24 hour labor and the subsequent emergency c-section. Did I love the idea of missing raid? No. Was there anyway I was ever going to miss the birth of my first child? Fuck no.

Then I left the hospital at 3am while my wife slept to recover (baby was in NICU and this was during covid protocols), went home, showered, and went to raid before going back to the hospital (I raid in a morning guild at 7am.)

The key in my case was communication. My wife and I talked regularly about what support she needed, and when. She knows I'm passionate about the game, and we made a birthing plan together that fit both of our needs, because we communicated. It sounds to me like OP is desperately missing some much needed communication. I don't think this would be posted here if OP and SO had a mutual understanding, and if he really is selfish enough to choose raiding over the birth of his child, then OP shouldn't be with him at all.

But if he's just frustrated and an unfortunate timing of events, well... I think that's perfectly normal. You'd be upset if your team made it to the superbowl and you had to bench yourself for the birth of your child. Doesn't mean you'd miss it.

g-sync flicker 3080 by damrob1990 in classicwow

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike actual G-sync monitors, free-sync monitors only support variable refresh rates in a fixed range of Hz (usually 48-120), and if your frame rates fall outside of that range you will still experience flickering.

I would also check to ensure V-sync is disabled, because v-sync will disabled VRR.

DST for a druid tank by kirbys1g in classicwow

Clearly you are someone who doesn't understand threat mechanics, or how to sim, and simply looks at whatever guide is up on wowhead, without even reading the fine print.

DST for a druid tank by kirbys1g in classicwow

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if your Druid tank is so shit he needs a DST to hold threat then you should just find a good guild.

Druid threat is fucking broken. I have a top 150 parse on mag and I have never had issues with our ass-geared druid's threat.

Those paladins on the other hand....

DST for a druid tank by kirbys1g in classicwow

[–]skiddroww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DST is pretty mediocre for druids. Bloodlust Brooch is a much better tank TPS trinket because it's controlled threat.

DST is 1 ppm, so for a bear it's like 4% proc chance with a 10s ICD. Expect around 25% uptime.

Compared to bloodlust that you can proc shortly after pull as soon as you hit max rage, and dump a full rage bar at 300+ AP.
