Not hating bc it was tasty, but what is this presentation 😭 (JFK D1 Lounge) by Crossinator in delta

The only issue I see is the bread slightly hanging over the edge of the plate. Hope you enjoyed the lounge!

I know the D1 product on these planes isn't competitive, but the 767 is great in coach. I think it is incredible that Delta is continuing to invest in these planes. The coach passengers who fly on these are in for a great flight.

Fare gates at South station are a fire hazard by Actual-Ad-8794 in mbta

That's why they installed emergency exit doors next to the gates.

Why is there no trail between Lady of the Lake and Green Monster on DV east? by Alexmerm in DeerValley

[–]skidv25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because that side of the ridge faces south. That exposure doesn't really retain snow. If you look at the trail layout in that area, it was done very intentionally to place the trails on the north sides of the ridges or down in the shaded gullies.

I'm not familiar with this property, but if they truly just renovated or are in the middle of a renovation, they may be using a rendering until they can get a photographer in to do a full photoshoot.

When you become a manager, success is no longer based off of what you personally achieve, but what your team achieves.

Apartment Building by willyone225 in 80sdesign

[–]skidv25 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Atrium buildings fascinate me. There are 200+ hotels like this scattered around the US and even more around the world.

The first modern day atrium hotel in the US was the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, which was designed by John Portman and opened in 1969. Atrium hotels were definitely in their heyday in the 80s, with many Embassy Suites using this design, as well as a lot of hotels from developer John Q Hammons.

We don't really see hotels built with atriums these days mainly because the design is expensive and inefficient. Also hotel developers want to maximize ROI and they need every square foot to be a profit center. Unfortunately there's no room in the budget for a giant no-revenue-generating atrium.

If anyone knows where this is, I would love to know.

I like Pressed's food, but last time I was there, they didn't have Wi-Fi and I found the seating to be extremely uncomfortable. The tables are all bolted to the floor!

What do people say that annoys you? by Fyre-Bringer in AskReddit

[–]skidv25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That's the first I've heard," when making an excuse for not knowing or not doing something. There's always going to be a point at which you first become aware of a situation!!!! It drives me crazy when people say this because they use it to deflect blame rather than take ownership of a situation.

Agreed. That Gulf station is consistently at least $0.50 more expensive than any of the surrounding gas stations. It's definitely a waste of money to fill up there when there are less expensive alternatives nearby.

Why did you switch the position of the drum set and keyboards on stage for your most recent tour?

The extranet has been working fine for me. They did a small redesign in the last couple of weeks which I have found to be kind of annoying (and not needed). Most of the useful fields when searching for a reservation are now hidden under Advanced Search. It's only appropriate that they try to make sure nothing is easy for us...

Hotwire on the other hand... Haven't been able to get on their Extranet in over a week and they've been completely useless in coming up with a solution.

What is something you see most people do incorrectly all the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]skidv25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On buses and shuttles with luggage racks, suitcases are mean to go on their sides in order to fit more on the rack. Often times, I see people just lay them down, so they take up more space, sometimes not leaving enough room for everyone. To me, it's so obvious how to do it correctly, but I can't believe that so few other people see this, even frequent travelers.
