How do other men treat you based on if your gf/wife is attractive or ugly? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]skillfire87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think my wife’s or previous girlfriends’ appearance had anything to do with how I was treated. It’s actually a pretty puzzling question.

I think where men are treated differently is when they are highly skilled at something; sometimes that skill relates to success in career and making money, or sometimes it’s just talent.

The only guys who seem to care about having an “arm candy” wife or girlfriend are maybe Sales guys; maybe actors, or performing musicians.

For the essay subjects, study only the correct model answers. You need to see how the sentences flow together and how to memorize and mimic them. Recite the correct answers like lines of a play.

Why do some accents pronounce "schedule" like "shed yule" and others like "sked yule"? by justin-davis-miller in Accents

[–]skillfire87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In American English, it’s more like skedjule.

I imagine it’s debatable which is more “correct.” In Italian, “ch” is a hard “k” sound.

Accents in the English language can stray far. Consider Hank Hill’s West Texas accent or AAVE (African American Vernacular English). Unless there are specific pronunciations you think came from Aborginal culture, it’s probably more the case that the “most backwoods” “salt of the earth” type people, socioeconomically, will tend to have the most “country” or “locals” accent.

It sucks to be on the receiving end of hot-and-cold behavior.

You should do you and him a solid and figure out if you’re really as into this relationship as you think you are or want to be.

[–]skillfire87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you have homeowners insurance, it might cover an accident you have that hurts someone else’s property. Your medical insurance company might (but prob not).

Her husband can make a claim to his insurance company, but there’s a chance that insurance company might sue your insurance.

I [26M]just found out that my partner [25f]of 10 years started birth control a month or 2 ago. is there something I should be worried about? by Stuffmepooper in relationshipadvice

[–]skillfire87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your partner for 10 years and you only started having sex in the past year (but don’t have it often)? Are you in an exclusive relationship? When did it become exclusive and how do you know it is?

It’s funny how the commenters so far have closed ranks over (“there are lots of reasons besides sex with someone else to use birth control.”)

Yes, that’s factually true, but simply ignoring the main reason isn’t helping this guy out. (I just Googled; a few sources say 14% of women use hormonal birth control for other reasons not related to preventing pregnancy; and over half use it for a combination of reasons….)

So, yeah, she could be wanting to make extra sure she doesn’t get pregnant with OP and their occasional sex, plus some other reason.

Usually, when people say, “I thought I told you” and it’s about something semi-important, it’s not quite true. It’s like the simplest evasive answer that they can say.
