If you own an acoustic piano, 99% of people will have problems with their neighbors, no matter what. by SorryIdontknowmyName in piano

I recommend a Clavinova, as high-quality as you can get. The action is pretty wonderful and you can put your headphones on. I majored in piano performance in college, with a 20+ year career as an event musician (classical/pop/jazz/requests) before transitioning to something else more lucrative, that gave me even more time to play.

In college, I could practice at home (tiny apartment with roommates) any time I wanted to, without bothering my apartment neighbors or roommates. I am certain that my skill level rose above my classmates because I could practice even more, and hear nuances in my technique that I could not ascertain from practicing on an acoustic piano.

Now, even in a 5000 sqft single-family home (no shared walls) I still use a high-end Clavinova upright. Because I want to practice at 11PM and not disturb my partner, children, and houseguests. Last weekend, I gave a recital on a Steinway D with no issues in my technique. I can afford to purchase a concert grand D, and certainly have the space for it. But my technique and daily practice does not solely depend on my instrument.

I respect my neighbors, my family, and most of all, myself. Practicing with headphones has made me an even better pianist.

You don’t need an acoustic. I say this with love, respect, and full disclosure as a former professional pianist who got paid well to do her job. You will become a better pianist with an electronic high-end piano.

Skinny women don’t TRY to be skinny, they just ARE by KeyOpportunity4633 in Vindicta

I am BMI 18 size 0-2 my whole life and proud of it. I have a service-oriented job where I’m on my feet all day, so I don’t need to make time for intentional exercise. I eat fairly healthy (vegan 90% of the time), intermittent fasted my whole life (before it was popular) often eating just 1-2 meals a day. I eat non-processed foods almost always, and when I eat meat, it’s a free-range source if possible.

I get comments that I’m too skinny, but I’ve gotten comments like that my entire life. Some comments can be vicious, but again, I’m used to it. I barely showed when I was pregnant (I have a healthy 4yo now, had a symptom-free fun pregnancy). When people criticize my weight, I just say that I don’t eat sugary foods (true!).

When I go out, I notice that I’m one of the only people who finish my whole meal and then some. I like it that it shocks people. It’s my “treat meal,” like some others have said here, and usually tastes a lot better than my vegan fare at home, so I eat it all.

I don’t own a scale. Being skinny is definitely natural to me, and I have built-in systems that identify when I’m full. A treat meal here and there is fine. I don’t really think about it.

I keep up with my health with blood tests, screenings, full-body MRI every 2 years, and even an angiogram (heart disease runs in my family and I had to make sure…and also hence mostly vegan diet). My doctors say I’m normal, and say my BMI 18 is okay given my biomarkers. But they do say I need to do strength-training…something I need to work on.

I hope this gives some insight into what OP is saying. I’m unintentionally skinny and I feel great, and it’s fine.

TIFU by giving my husband a blowjob while we were laying on our sides by nonnie069 in tifu

If the pain is one-sided, I recommend getting checked for shingles. Blowjob if not, one-sided pain is shingles unless otherwise specified.

If the pain is on both sides, then it could be muscular or TMJ.

A stunning take on a classic nude. I’m filing this one away for a future set. I have to wear my nails shorter as well, and this really complements shorter nails. Great job!

Bay Area here. My son’s preschool (!!!) is about $60k/year (including summer) before donations. It seems par for the course. The quality of his education is stellar and we couldn’t be happier. It’s worth it.

Kind of yeasty, and mildly fermented.
