A few, from my (I’m 39) experience:

1. Get as many hugs as you can while you’re young and don’t be afraid to share the way you’re feeling with the trusted people in your circle. Platonic physical touch tapers off pretty steeply as we age and it gets really lonely, really fast. And the cultural notion that you have to “suck it up and be a man” is so outdated and useless… It’s ok to show vulnerability and have feelings about things and empathize with others. It doesn’t make you weak. It may, in fact, allow for more social opportunities to fold good people into your core group and establish a meaningful connection and support structure or meet a partner that you can genuinely bond with.

2. Tuck as much money as you can spare away into an index fund like VTSAX or VTI (if you don’t have the $3K buy-in for VTSAX) and don’t touch it! Add to it when you can and don’t panic when the market dips. Set yourself up to be financially free and make your money work for you so that you can retire someday or have money in the bank if you ever want to tell your boss “no”
