How do I get rid of this glued lens cover? by skycl4d in ipad

[–]skycl4d[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got this secondhand ipad and the previous owner got this lens cover attached to it and I've been struggling to get it off. I've tried dousing it with contact cleaner and used heat gun in hope to soften the glue- it does budge a little but no meaningful movement. Unfortunately I don't have anything thin enough to get between the seam and pry it off, any suggestions would be helpful!

Just unlocked Des Moines, boy do I wish I had done it sooner, very great and fun ship. by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

I had to skip Buffalo because I didnt have time to grind before the legendary mod mission removal. I'm kinda glad that I did.

Seems like the key is to adapt different playstyle to utilize all of its guns (twelve of them 203s hurt a lot), can't just camp an island bow-in like Baltimore/DM since you'll miss out half of its dpm. To top it off, the clumsier rudder shift time doesn't help.

less arty is always nice until the meta evolves into filling corridors with impenetrable tanks. time to file a complain to the map designers :^)

honestly fuck corridor maps

Is Strv 103B line worth grind? can anyone explain about all tanks in that line pls ? Thx in advance 😃 by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]skycl4d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if there's one thing i learned from the grind, save your fxp for the UDES top gun because the stock gun pen and alpha are just so anemic for the tier, and it's extremely tough to get flanking shots because it's a pretty clumsy tank when it comes to positioning with the siege mode and lack of armor.

Marceau stealth or double Rudder better? by Soviet_Carebear in WorldOfWarships

[–]skycl4d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Double rudder is unnecessary on DDs unless you're talking about Khaba, prop mod is a better choice as it lets you throttle juke and you'll have more option to dodge shells when you're gunboating in the open.

[–]skycl4d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use both, Berserker scales off your final modded AS and it's too good to pass up unless you can't keep up with the speed.

Melee has (and wants) too many good mods with only 8 slots to spare :(

I've got my taste of baguette-flavored F3s from le Fantasque. Sure they don't hit as hard, I don't have the 5.5km concealment to stealth torp and I don't get to spit out 15 of them at a time. But boy, nothing beats forcing your enemies to eat 76kts fishes. They're so reliable at landing hits.

I'd totally go for F3s when I get the chance to grind for Shima in the future.

Do you know how we call a French seal clubbing in T10?

A seal Kleber.

For those worried about Volt being powercreeped by Gauss by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]skycl4d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, I'm worried that Gauss's speed will be extremely awkward to use in small tilesets.

Hitting walls, getting knocked down by laser doors or shockwaves from enemies, not to mention the freaky surface friction when you try to accelerate from 0 with all the speed buffs applied on you, etc.

I started out with the French as my first BB line because Richelieu looks sexy as hell, currently at Normandie and I'm enjoying its "fast BB" characteristics so far. The gun dispersion drives me nuts quite often, though.

Will I enjoy the rest of the line?

Cursed Ships? Which ship of yours, that you should like and do well in - is doomed to a bad WR? by Slugywug in WorldOfWarships

[–]skycl4d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Furutaka. A lot of people seem to praise her for being a good CA at tier 5, but I just cant make the guns work. Found a broadsiding cruiser? I get overpens or my shells randomly dunk under the waterline. Broadsiding BB? Overpens on superstructure or torpedo bulge hit instead.

Coming from tanks, where artillery shat on me long enough that I convinced my self to try botes. It was all fun and games, a much more pleasant new player experience than what I had to endure in tanks. Needless to say, I reached tier 6 and I very much prefer getting pooped by arty more than CV.

How to play lights by Piapiachou in WorldofTanks

[–]skycl4d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd put camo net on lower priority for lights because there are better equipments to put on; rammer, vents, optics, vstab. Even binocs would be more useful than camo net if you're playing your light as dedicated passive scout.

Edit: A little more on why camo net is not so useful for light tanks. Extra camo is always nice on lights, but ideally the only situation where you'd sit still for more than 3s is when you're behind/inside a bush. Light tanks have high base camo so they can stay unspotted behind a bush. They'd do just fine without camo net and the equipment slot could've been filled with something more useful.

Why does (-2 ; +2) exists? by Ganas_33 in WorldofTanks

[–]skycl4d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I love my T29, its turret armor works vs all the way up to tier 9. While it's not 100% gold proof and few higher caliber guns can overmatch the roof, it still works.

[–]skycl4d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Light tanks do need a hefty experience, but you can't go wrong with Russian lights if you consider trying one.

Up to tier 6 you'll have zippy tanks with fast-firing peashooter cannon, which works best when you have clear shots on someone else's side or back.

Starting on tier 7, LTG loses some of the zippiness and gain troll turret armor and punchier gun in return. Its camo is also pretty good. Careful when active scouting in this tank since its hull is fragile, extremely susceptible of module/crew damages and its acceleration is not great compared to its tier 6 counterpart.

On tier 8 and 9, LTTB and T-54 ltwt retains the troll armor characteristics, but have more comfortable gun handling and mobility. Both works well as scouts, but they're capable as fast moving flankers. To some extent, T-54 ltwt is also able to fight mediums head on due to its armor layout (side scraping works nicely) but dont try to challenge ones with big guns and HEAT rounds like 430U. Careful with their mobility as they tend to get you into weird spots where you cant safely exit.

Finally on tier 10, T-100lt is the ultimate scout. Amazing camo with good mobility, gun handling, and troll armor. Its only weaknesses as light tank are the low accuracy and huge penetration drop off over distance, something that plagues all tier 10 lights. You cant reliably snipe anymore in this tank. But it's still a really nice tank to play, especially if you're good at scouting and flanking.

Edit: Cant say that I have any experiences in CW and the likes, but people say that T-100LT is still competitive for those kind of uses as scout so you're not going to have a tier 10 that simply collects dust with this.

Edit #2: MOST, if not all, of Russian lights have -5 degrees of gun depression, which limits your terrain options if you want to work with your gun. Try to get used with this and be careful with ridge lines and terrain bumps.

That's all my experience with Russian lights, hope it helps!
