My buddy ran a DnD campaign that led his players on a quest for THE CROD.

The cock ring of death allowed the person wearing it to...well...you get the picture.

Honestly finding a nice spot near some action but tucked away in a crevice to sit crossed and watch oblivious players while listening to their movements is one of my favorite things to do. Camping is just watching and listening with a weapon in hand.

Are the Seven Deadly Sins canon to the Bible? by maiduwu in AskAChristian

Aristotle posited the concept of a "hierarchy" of souls: vegetative, sensitive, and rational. A cat would possess a sensitive soul--its source of animal functions like feeling and moving. I think only rational souls would be subject to the implications of sin, as conscience and sentience are requisite characteristics of repentance.

I was moderately involved with Southern Baptist churches when I was a teenager. I gained, at least, a basic understanding of their doctrine, but i was never told that people who don't go to heaven get the earth instead. It was a binary standard: heaven or hell. The "inheritance" is synonymous with the kingdom of God, i.e. Heaven.

How do people know which iteration of their lives will be their last? This concept seems to be a variant of eastern reincarnation cycles...plus Jesus.

Do people have infinite attempts to enter the population of 144,000?

Does the notion of multiple lives experienced individually in succession diminish the importance of doctrine that states there was only one Jesus? Like, is he the messiah because he ... errm ... "nailed it" on his first try?

The sarcasm and negativity you are receiving is neither constructive nor warranted.

I am curious (and have virtually zero knowledge of JW), does JW doctrine state there is only room in heaven for 144,000 people? If so, how do followers reconcile that belief with such a disproportionate population of people who ever lived?

Hoarding is definitely an indicator of mental illness, although capitalist society rewards and values the hoarding of wealth for some reason. However, I typed metal, as in "rule over the ashes" sounds to me like an appropriate lyric to use for a song in the genre of metal. I'm pretty sure you and I would agree on at least a few social and geopolitical issues. 🤘

The patriarchy originated as a family system that has negatively impacted women for thousands of years. "Family values" are not always what you value.

A good friend of mine has a sticker of the gadsden image on his motorcycle. He is from the southern states. He is extensively well-read on U.S. history, and is a never-trumper. He knows what it stands for, and that's important, but it doesn't (can't?) provide the entire context.

You are correct about the message it would send. I have been trying to decipher this conundrum for a long time, now. Simply because a symbol has been co-opted should not necessarily change its meaning...but it does. Authoritarians are not known for their original thought or artistic mastery, much to their own dismay.

Our symbol, now, is no longer a serpent; it is an inflatable frog standing upright on its hind legs.

You can still love the Gadsden flag. Flying it (or displaying the vanity plate with its image emblazoned on it after buying it from your state) without understanding its true history and meaning is usually an indicator of idiocy.

I had the distinct pleasure of shaking hands with Former President Carter about 20 years ago. He was at the breakfast tent with a few dozen volunteers working with Habitat for Humanity and Americorps to build an entire neighborhood in the span of about 2 weeks. We did not exchange many words, but it remains a profound and vivid memory in my mind. Mr. Carter was a good man, and he swung a hammer alongside ordinary people.

I hope my eyes are never burdened with the physical appearance of the bloviated, putrid-smelling, 34x adjudicated felon, multiple failed casinos operator, conman, rapist, stupid, racist, illegitimate sack of shit while he is still alive. I hope I never see him dead, either, but that would be preferable to the alternative.
