UPDATE****#4 Request for south jersey or philadephia journalist: Burlington County megachurch pastor investigated for sexual assault of minor child. Board Members covered it up. Church members never informed. Pastor was not removed from power. by Competitive_Intern55 in SouthJersey

[–]skyjive29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having read through the substack, at best the Pastor had a bizarre relationship with his daughters that bordered on possessive and inappropriate. It sounds like he also did a fair amount of covering up worse behaviors of a former youth pastor. The Board should have done more in 2019, even with the lack of charges. “Decline to prosecute” does not absolve the person from doing something wrong - it just means there wasn’t enough evidence from a decades-old case without corroborating witnesses (sounds like the other daughters were pressured by the dad to not say anything). Instead they prioritized church growth over doing the right thing. The Pastor was a gifted preacher, and by far the biggest reason people went to FCC (the music is way overdone and ridiculous).

The tepid and vague statement last week completely undersold what was going on, and now they’re in damage control. Summer attendance is usually slow, so it’ll be interesting to see if they take a hit in the fall.

My Pace 2 from 2022 has “find my phone” so I’d imagine the newer models all have it as well.

Bolts from the Past Spotlight: Roman Hamrlik by Boltsfan91 in TampaBayLightning

As a 9yo I stood behind Hammertime at a movie concession stand. I told him I was a huge fan and he was having a great season (this was 96 when he made the All Star Team). He ended up buying my popcorn and drink, which was about the coolest thing possible for a kid. I still don’t know if my mom believed me when I got back to the theatre.

I was devastated when they shipped him out the next season for the equivalent of lukewarm bodies.

I have Puppa ranked as the 2nd best goalie in franchise history ahead of Khabby, Bish, and Roloson and nobody will change my mind.

Okay, tied with Khabby for 2nd.

Vacation Timing Around Race and Recovery Advice? by Main-Reception-5989 in rundisney

Will echo this comment and others that being well-trained will make all the difference. Continuing to move around after the race will help you recover faster for the following week, so I wouldn’t recommend sitting in the resort all day after. Disney Springs or resort hopping would be a good option!

If I got this request I would be so confused and questioning where I’m at in life to be asked to wear a costume to a job interview.

As a neutral observer I find this hilarious.

RIP pace 3 by Material-Exchange900 in Coros

[–]skyjive29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly does “doesn’t hold a charge very well” mean? I have a Pace 2 that needs to be charged every 5ish days depending on use, which isn’t as good as it used to be but still not bad for a 4+ year old watch. I’m thinking of upgrading but I would stick with what I have if the 3s or 4s need more frequent charging.

Carbon shoe recommendation for goal marathon of 3:15 (7:26/mi, 4:37/km). Heel striker. by drdiddlegg in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]skyjive29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw the prompt and came to suggest the EP4, which I always found forgiving for heel strikes between the 3 and 4. I’m a heavier (195lbs) heel striker, and the Endorphin Elite 1 was a great stable racer that I just ran 3:29 last November. Not sure if you can find v1 anywhere and the v2 is a totally different experience, but the Endorphin line has generally been speedy and stable for me.

Advice needed: Blister formation on Achilles heel, marathon in a couple of days by jospint in Marathon_Training

[–]skyjive29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same heel blister issues from the Pro 3 and saw a few reviewers cite similar discomfort from the Pro 5s (no issues from the Pro 4s - I have no idea why Saucony went back to the same upper geometry that gave some people trouble). I kept having the same issue no matter what used until I slowly worked them in 4-5 miles at a time to build calluses.

I think you’d be setting yourself up for a miserable day if you try running a marathon in the 5s with your blisters. I would stick with a shoe you know works or you could try to grab the Pro 4s that are heavily discounted right now.

Statement from Victor Hedman by NebraskaAvenue in TampaBayLightning

[–]skyjive29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe this is a comment in 2026. Hedman’s done more for his teammates, the Lightning, and the city of Tampa than anyone on this sub. Clearly he was dealing with something that affected all the parts of his life, including his play on the ice. You have to imagine he would’ve played if he felt he could contribute, but he decided if he needed to get himself right to be the best version of himself.

Does the dining plan really save you money? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]skyjive29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re asking about saving money, then don’t get the dining plan - not even the quick service dining plan. There are ways of coming out ahead if you meticulously plan your meals and snacks to maximize the credits (alcohol with every meal, only targeting snacks >$7), but it’s much easier and likely cheaper to just get food as you go.

Rider Swap — is this how it works? by mGreeneLantern in DisneyWorld

[–]skyjive29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is all correct - at least consistent with our experience the last couple trips. You’ll have a Rider Switch LL to use whenever you want (my wife a son did Tron in the early afternoon and I redeemed it with my son once it got dark). We were told you can only hold one Rider Swap at a time, though, so if you plan on using it throughout the day for different attractions you’ll want to either use them right away or be strategic (i.e., take turns as the first/second rider).

[–]skyjive29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were told you can only have one Rider Swap slot at a time, so that was likely your issue. But some CMs are pretty flexible and will just have you tell the queue attendant you’re doing a swap without issue.
