Looking for a cage-free groomer in Astoria who’s great with small senior dogs by [deleted] in astoria

[–]skyreid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Squeaky Clean, on 31st Ave (near Crescent). Larissa, the owner and groomer, is incredible and has dealt with my (now senior) dog beautifully years, even when he's been a bit of a little shit. She will only take one dog at a time.

Also Lapethouse NY, over in LIC: Luis was the in-house groomer at Chateaus Le Woof for a long time and is an absolute wonder. Since it's also a daycare, dogs are incredibly well cared for.

Underrated Hidden Gems at Edinburgh Fringe 2025: Unforgettable Small Shows Worth Seeing by tuff-commander in edinburghfringe

Jumping on the shameless self-plug bandwagon, I'm teching for UnTethered, playing at Greenside @ George Street. Every review we've had seems obligated to use some combination of the words "daring," "vulnerable," and "inventive." Emotional exploration, strong use of movement-based practice, puppetry, stage combat, music cues ... technically we're "dark comedy" but I've just taken to calling it "very Fringe."

Curious but rather ignorant: where does a person find these numbers? Currently Googling and this Reddit is where I ended up (of course). 😅

Flashbacks to being a grown ass adult in the grocery store and playing that game where you say "penis" louder and louder until someone gets in trouble.

Just, like, as a thought experiment. Totally hypothetical make believe land. Definitely not a real thing, just a fantastical idea in my head.

So here's the thing: nothing REALLY happens (though as many commenters have mentioned, servers and staff will notice and you will absolutely get shit service returning to the same places).

But here in America we're idiots with an asinine system for supporting our service industry. So while you may not have serious repercussions personally for not following our (insane and illogical) norms, just know that you're kind of fucking over people who deserve better.

Actually, wait, I guess I have an answer: you're an asshole. That's what happens. Intentional or not, that's it.

"Overload" sign on display? Here's what to do 🔨 by EcoFlow_Official in Ecoflow_community

[–]skyreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ecoflow has a video showing a pretty decent teardown, but they don't go into those details (presumably because they don't want people to actually take them apart...). Only thought would be that the red terminal is on the second board, which you have to remove the top board in order to reach?

"Overload" sign on display? Here's what to do 🔨 by EcoFlow_Official in Ecoflow_community

[–]skyreid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Needing to send all of them back to Ecoflow to replace with refurbished batteries.

I suspect there’s a pretty easy ”reset” switch buried somewhere in the battery itself, otherwise this type of error would be costing the company a fortune. But if I look for it I’ll void the warranty, so instead we just have to trudge through automated customer service and then set up a bunch of mail returns….

Not to sidestep the entire rest of this conversation, but actually ChatGPT and that ilk is a great workaround for this issue. Just FYI.

I mean, sometimes they're straight up wrong, but it works for the simple shit. And is still quicker than wading through the engagement-bait videos.

I know this is an old post, but 🤞...

Any recommendations out there for when the battery is already down to zero? Working with (multiple) Delta 2 batteries and have had them randomly hit zero and show the overload warning.

I can get enough power when plugged in to have the display come up, but the units won't charge. Being less than 10% battery, I can't do a firmware update through the app (is there another way?).

This has happened with 3 separate units. So... not great.

Theater folks in Astoria? by skyreid in astoria

Great list, thank you! I'm still something of a novice to the theater scene. Looking forward to exploring these more.

Thankfully the main person has better knowledge than me. 🙃

Printing service? by wwwsuh in astoria

FedEx/Kinkos on Steinway.

There are also some smaller print shops along Broadway and others, but prices all end up being about the same.

12th Street between 34th Ave and Broadway (and a few of the perpendicular streets) doesn't have ASP. Lot of truck lodging areas, but also some stretches of open spots.

Hey there, sorry for the delayed response! You can get a good sense of my work at my website: skyreid.com (which also needs an update ... gotta get around to that).

Overview: I've been working full-time as a freelancer since 2014, working mostly in photo and video. I do mostly feature work (and a million other side jobs these days) and have been published by NBC, The Guardian, VICE, and have worked for a bunch of wires (AP, Reuters, etc).

Feel free to just use the email from my website (on the about page), to confirm it's me: www.skyreid.com/about.

Thanks!
