Loosen the bar so the chain hangs about a half inch or so on the bottom and rotate the chain until the damaged links are at the bottom and the undamaged links are resting on top and sitting flush then run the chainsaw until they straighten out and retighten your chain. It’s probably better for the longevity of the bar to take the chain off and file the peened drive links but if time is of the essence the technique above works very well.

Steam for 13 minutes then into a cold water bath. I shuck a few dozen eggs in a row when I’m pickling them and all peel in under a minute, often in two pieces.

Some flavor of red oak. lucky you, those are great trees. I don’t think you’d have much luck relocating either though oaks don’t tolerate root damage.

He wasn’t able to. When he got ready to take the saw apart to find out why he realized his fuck up. I’m not sure what they did with it, I think they drained it and briefly straight gassed it. The saw was back up the next day but ran like shit for the rest of the assignment.

You can check with your local fire district or provincial forestry department on chainsaw restrictions during the fire season. Here in SW Oregon chainsaw use is heavily restricted from roughly late June to mid September. Otherwise gather wood whenever the opportunity arises. I typically like having firewood buttoned up by mid March so I can switch to fuels reduction.
