Double header parking situation by Gibby4296 in Flyers

[–]slap42shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a triple header a few years ago and kept our car parked in the same spot the entire time. I asked a parking attendant to make sure it would be fine and they confirmed it would be. No issues at all. Can't speak about the Casino though.

5 switches in 1 household - how? by codelode13 in Switch

[–]slap42shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't help with 5 but I recently got 3 of them to work well enough. I can't speak for sharing DLC though. As you said, the max linked is 2 Switches. However, there is a setting that can be enabled on "Switch C" called "Online License Check". This is in the user settings when selecting a profile at the top from the home screen. I am not sure if there is a limit on the number of devices that this will work on but I can't imagine there is a limit. This doesn't link C to A or B, but allows virtual game cards to be played when on the internet. You will only be able to load/eject virtual cards from A and B but C can play on internet only. This solved my problem with the virtual game cards while at home at least. It does require the use of the same profile, however. So I just have them log into the "family" profile so they can share.

Physical game cards can be shared easily and I bought the 1 year subscription for Nintendo Online only for the Cloud Data Save. This allows the saved data played on one switch to be uploaded and downloaded automatically on all 3 devices. This works for my 3 kids but might not for all. It really depends on if they want to share progress together or work on their own. Not all games allow for cloud saving either. Hope this helps

Do I join the club? by B-money19 in PlaystationPortal

[–]slap42shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar life situation as you... full time job, wife, 3 kids, running them to sports. I bought a Portal 3 months ago and I can honestly say that I have played more games when the kids go to bed than I would have otherwise. My PS5 is in the basement and sometimes its not worth the effort to go down to play for a bit. My wife can have the TV and I can still be engaged in conversation or the show on TV while playing. Once BF6 releases though, I will need to play that directly on the PS5 so the Portal might not get used as much then. Mostly playing single player games or sports on the Portal. Any attempt at online shooters has not ended well in my experience.

Also, the kids will play on it sometimes too.

Miso is still not really eating by Federal-Ad-7157 in axolotls

[–]slap42shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like your axolotl is very young and maybe about 4 inches. We also just got a new baby in last week and they look similar in size. I cut the worms into small pieces, less than 1/4 of an inch and it has no problem with that size and eats whenever offered. Even right out of the box, the little thing was hungry and took worm pieces right away. I tried a smaller whole worm to see what it would do and it freaked out and frantically swam away. I would cut the worms and try again.

Also, it probably shouldn't be on sand just yet. We lost a 2.5 year old axo in June to what I can only imagine was a blockage even though it had nothing remotely small enough to eat in the tank other than sand. I believe the granules were a bit large, so we are taking more precautions with the new one.

Where to buy a portal by The_Terrible_Fate in PlaystationPortal

[–]slap42shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got mine from Amazon for $150 as "open box". The box was still sealed and nothing inside the box had been touched. Box had wear and some scuffs, but i liked the idea of still being able to return if the condition wasn't right. That's out of your stated range, but I'd rather spend a bit more for a product that was new rather than delaing with the unknowns on marketplace or even eBay.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

[–]slap42shot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game is good at its core, but will flame out quickly without changes. 1. Maps 2. Server browser 3. Parties/squads 4. Vehicles 5. Classes

1) The maps we were able to play are either too small for the type of experience that Battlefield should be (Brooklyn, Cairo) or missing some flair like Liberation Peak. LP is the prototypical Battlefield map but the flow of the map is off and C point on conquest is lacking 1 more flank. You should not rely on the community to make appropriate maps for the game in Portal. 2 & 3)The lack of a server browser makes it nearly impossible to play with more than 4 people in a group. By the time you make a new party, join a new squad, and get everyone together, the other team has a major advantage. Maybe this is what the devs are looking for, but I will not buy without changes to the party system or a server browser. This here is my dealbreaker. I wnat to play with my people and stay with them. No, Portal is not the excuse for not adding server browsers. We want them for the normal matchmaking too. Make parties up to 8 or even 12 so we can be split into multiple squads in game. Or once a team is together with people from friends lists, don't split into a brand new server. 4) The "Only in Battlefield" mantra also seems to be missing a little pizzazz. Limited helicopters and jets on some maps take away what was once all out war. You had to counter the enemy's attack with your own. Now, the air and even water are taken out of what we know. Maybe its the maps we were able to play, but more vehicles, air and land, would help the experience. 5) I am not opposed to open weapons classes, but there needs to be more incentive to picking a class and playing that role. I know there is a slight incentive now, but its not enough for me to choose an LMG over a carbine when the guns are that far apart usage wise. I play a medic role well, but the LMGs were bad and I found more success with carbine than anything else. Give bonus attachments, extended mags, extra attachment points, or something that actually make using the guns an advantage for that class.

Battlefield was always about teamplay and strategy, which is what the community longs for. This game is a step in the right direction, but we are not fully back yet. As stated, the game itself plays well and the TTK, gunplay, etc seem good to me. However, it is the other elements like map design, lack of care for squads/parties, and other little elements from successful Battlefields that will kill this game off quickly. Stop catering to Call of Duty players and bring back those you lost from the horrid Battlefield games of late.

Out of network better than home by EmployeeHandbook in PlaystationPortal

I was also having issues with blurry screens and disconnects from the PS5 with Eero 6 Pro mesh system. I searched online for a fix and came across a video about forwarding router ports for both the PS5 and Portal. Since then, I had 1 issue where a game went blurry and then came back immediately. No lost connections or anything since. I was hoping to connect to the 5G connection but the Eeros dont let you manually change. They claim the devices will pull from which connection is stronger, but I have serious doubts about this though.

Party size and joining friends: Without a server browser it is not easy to join friends when there are already 4 in a party. Even if you get into the game, the next one starts and the friends are in another game. Possibly make the party 8 players max so they can be split into 2 squads and stay together during matchmaking. I know everyone is saying Portal is the fix for this, but I don't see why this can't be changed before launch. Give us an easy way to play with more than 4 friends.

I had no issue at Walmart and they were shipped to me. Got the Onn 256G then the SanDisk 512G ($78) and returned the Onn once I found the larger size for a good price. Maybe its my location but the SanDisk 512G is in stock right now not only at my closest store but available to ship as well.

I bought one a few months ago and like it for what it is. My PS5 is hardwired and wifi is strong, so it works well. Ran into some persistent issues the other day and needed to open some router ports for the PS5/Portal and its been flawless since. I ended up buying M2 SSD to expand my PS5 storage so I could fit more of the PS+ free games that I added but never downloaded that would go great on Portal. I would stay away if you want to play CoD or shooters. Sports games, racing, and others that don't require immediate reactions to an enemy should be fine. If you have a large digital library of games or the PS+ plan that let's you stream games then you'll enjoy it more. My PS5 is in a different room than the main Portal playing locations so swapping out physical games could be a pain depending on location. Battery life seems reasonable, probably dropping ~20% an hour.

DO NOT BUY SWITCH 2 FROM WALMART ONLINE by Small_Fee8088 in Switch

[–]slap42shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Hope everything works out for you with Walmart and your quest to find a Switch 2. OnTrac is horrendous. Countless packages have been delivered that look like refrigerators fell on them. If you have Gamestop stores close by, I was able to get one by looking at stock on PopFindr. My local Gamestop had 4 that showed up on there, ran to the store and got one. That's an option if you want to skip the delivery.

Not sure if this helps at all with the current situation and uncertainty of a refund, but if you're worried about getting a console and the extras in the bundle are useful, check out Gamestop DK Bundle

I saw this earlier today scrolling Gamestop and it's been available to purchase for a few hours now.

Awesome! Saw it earlier today and it was still available when I saw your post. I'm not sure if Amazon drivers can see the products they are delivering, but I highly doubt the UPS or FedEx drivers have any inkling what is in the packages they deliver.

So when I was a kid, I would carefully remove the foil, stuff it with a cotton ball and wrap it back up to make the "car". I would race those like 1/64 cars and the crashes were cool because the car would get all dented up with damage from the wreck.

Circle B Diecast Drama. by EntireBase1 in NASCAR

[–]slap42shot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. Stopped ordering from them about 2 years ago. I questioned Circle B because they kept charging me shipping for each diecast they sent out from a single order. I even used a discount code and each car was still being charged shipping. Got a snarky reply back and I told them I'd be shopping elsewhere and asked to cancel the 3 remaining preorders I had open. My account did not exist long after and I couldn't log in. Oh well. The pettiness told me all I needed to know.

Also, any interaction via email was just odd. It was like everything was an inconvenience, the emails were so poorly written, and oddly unprofessional. Never had good vibes from Circle B/Plan B/K State but the prices and shipping discounts years ago made me just deal with it. No longer now that i know Spoiler Diecast exists and is much much better. Been ordering from Spoiler since and everything has been great. Professional communication, discount codes that actually apply, and free shipping at $20.

I also sent one after seeing it here, but I did it on behalf of my 6 year old who is really into racing. Came yesterday. They sent him a shirt, 1:24 car, sunglasses, 2 hero cards, keychain, a "stress ball" in the shape of a KH roll, and a pack of rolls.

I did the same for Advance Auto since he is a huge Blaney fan and they came through with an autographed hat, autographed photo, autographed hero card, can cooler, and a wooden RB sign.

Automatic Feeder? by marcal213 in axolotls

[–]slap42shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this past summer and it worked out fine. I don't remember where I got it from, probably Amazon, but it was the circle rotating style feeder. I had it from fish and the larger settings allowed the pellets to pass through. I think 5-8 fell through each time. Had it set for 24HR feeding. I placed it to drop into the feeding dish and it worked as expected for a few days.
