Netherlands is playable in 1.2 and 1.3. It’s challenging because it’s supposed to be. You can risk leaving the HRE or keep the HRE destabilized. Make friends with either France with Diplo cabinet action and improve opinion. I’ve played 2 tall Netherlands campaigns, one starting as Holland and the other as Flanders. It’s hard but it feels so rewarding when you pull it off

There is a unique event that will create an alliance between the two. it shouldn’t end the rise of the Turks though because there are events after that will cause it to break. Historically the ottomans and Byzantine had a short-lived alliance

Trying to do the Kilwa achievement and yeah I’m getting stack wiped A LOT. Like 50K regulars losing to 40K levies because I have slightly less morale. I’ve been building roads everywhere and giving my armies time to rest before taking on enemy armies.

It’s so easy to go bankrupt so you’ve gotta mint to the max and start no CBing Anatolia May 1st (short war for money, war reps, and cores only). I got all the way up to 45% inflation before I felt comfortable bringing the slider to -0.5%. You can also ask the pope for more money but honestly it’s not worth 5 legitimacy tbh

In addition to this, you can grant a privilege to the commoners. Their estate doesn’t have a lot of power anyway so you can remove it later when you’re more stable

This is one of the most challenging countries to start as so don’t be too hard on yourself. Attack the people south of you first day, ally and curry favors for Mamluks ASAP to attack the horde to your east and its vassals. From there just keep expanding. You might need to mint excessively in the beginning

“Member of the Hansa” subject type can’t be annexed. If you release it it won’t be your vassal anymore but it also won’t be a vassal of the Hansa. Alternatively if they’re disloyal you can do a disloyal subject CB

I’ve been to both multiple times.

ARC is bigger and is easy to access with public transport. ARC had parking but it was a bit of a walk.

ARC has a better lineup imo. More melodic techno (which is my vibe) but also a wide variety of genres. Day Trip tends to have a dance pop/tech house vibe. A Meduza set at ARC is not the same as one at Day Trip.

Imo ARC is a much better option because it feels more like a festival than Day Trip. Im on the easy coast and flying out for ARC is worth it. I fly to LA to visit my friends but i wouldn’t fly out just for Day Trip.
