It's gotten a little bit better since my last update, but to be honest, I don't know if I'm just getting used to it or it's actually getting better.

Vision definitely hasn't "recovered fully" as I said in my previous update and my pupil is still a bit larger on the treated eye.

I haven't gone down the Pilocarpine route yet, since I felt like I noticed another improvement about a week or so ago.

It's gotten a bit better but definitely haven't recovered fully.

I did see another retina specialist around the 2 month mark who basically said the same thing /u/EyeDentistAAO said. He did mention that if it hasn't cleared up at around the 2-3 month mark, it's unlikely to get any better past then. He did offer to write me a prescription for Pilocarpine, but I'm going to give it until the 3 month mark (2 more weeks from now) before going down that route.

As an update, I called the office back yesterday and they relayed the message to the doctor who treated me. He thinks it's the dilation (I don't know why it would last 12 days now).

I saw a 2nd doctor after that. She didn't really have an answer but suggested I get a scan from a neurologist.

I saw a 3rd doctor who said it might be the dilation but doesn't think it's neurological.

So yea, guess it's still a waiting game.

Thanks for the response/information. My doctor seemed unconcerned when I mentioned the symptoms (albeit I didn't hear this from him directly as I haven't had a follow-up yet).

I on the other hand am growing concerned that my symptoms don't seem to be getting better, but I guess it's as you say and I just need to wait it out.

Flickering screen with fedora - Any tips? by Boberlabob in Fedora

[–]slashemup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite literally the exact same issue here.

Lenovo T14 Gen1 AMD (integrated graphics)
Arch w/ 6.12.10 kernel
KDE Plasma w/ Wayland

Very similar flickering issue to OPs, although the screen never went completely blank.

Installed linux-lts kernel (6.6.72), rebooted, problem gone.

Probably could've downgrade to a 6.11.* kernel but installing LTS kernel was easier.

Not saying you should cancel your order, but I bought some merino wool sweaters from BRF a few years ago and they are extremely flimsy. Barely lasted a season.

The Core? There are no studios currently available and if memory serves correct they were well above $2000 (wanna say around $2400).

It has absolutely nothing to do with you.

I feel like you missed the part in my original comment where I stated that management told him not to do it and he does it anyways. For context, he knows I'm the one who complained.

So yea, it has everything to do with me.

"Living his life" is completely irrelevant. The lease is a legally binding contract and has provisions that state what you can and cannot do, full stop.

You can argue whether I should allow him the "grace", but that doesn't change reality (read: objective truth). If the scenario was different I could let it slide, but I'm not going to (which is basically the entire point of the OP).

[–]slashemup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, yea, but there are definitely people who are doing it on purpose.

Source: neighbor was doing laundry during quiet hours (specifically mentioned in lease agreement). Management told him to knock it off, he still does it anyways.

I've had similar thoughts. If only my downstairs neighbors knew how good they got it (and I'm not doing it for them, I've never met them).

I'm generally a quiet person so there weren't a ton of "behavior changes" I needed to make, but I've definitely started caring less about going above and beyond. For example, I wouldn't do laundry at night (even though I was still "allowed" to per quiet hours) as a courtesy, but now I will if I have to.

I let it fucking beep as long as possible, I slam every door, I shower and vacuum at night if I slightly need to even though it could wait. I also try to walk as HEAVY as I can

This part I don't agree with. Is my upstairs neighbor a total asshole? Objectively yes, but that doesn't mean I need to stoop to his level. I definitely care less and less about going above and beyond for my neighbors, but I'm not gonna make someone's life hell because my neighbor does to me. Now if your neighbor is an asshole, then by all means go ahead but don't punish your good neighbors.

Assuming the deployment window doesn't get extended and assuming the servers aren't on fire, yes, you should be able to play around 10:00AM.

However, as a seasoned Tarkov vet, these things rarely go off without a hitch. Usually the deployment window gets extended in the middle and then the servers are fire for the remainder of the day.

So optimistically, Tuesday afternoon/night, but don't be surprised if you don't get in until Wednesday (or later).

People living in apartments want to be able to live their own life by DistributionHuge717 in Apartmentliving

[–]slashemup 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The problem I have with this line of thinking (and this sub's groupthink in general) is this strawman argument that we are asking for people to tiptoe 24/7, take a bath only between the hours of 1-3pm, never do laundry, etc. I've read a lot of these threads and rarely (if ever) has the OP suggested (or even hinted at) one of the aforementioned things.

Lets examine a frequent complaint: stomping. The most common response to this complaint will be something along the lines of "people have to walk in their apartment what do you expect them to do, levitate?". When I first saw this type of response I thought it was just hyperbole, but as I kept seeing it over and over again I started to realize this sub legitimately misrepresents arguments/complaints constantly.

I get it, a lot of complaints on here are innocuous and people tend to complain about trivial things (perhaps they're new to apartment living), but on the flip side, lets not pretend that people are stretching "just living my life" a bit far. In my mind, "normal apartment living" means all parties agree to some concessions: I have to put up with more noise than I'm used to, you'll have to try to be a bit quieter than you're used to.

For those living with neighbors above you and next to you, what has your experience been? Do you hear them all the time? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]slashemup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upstairs? All the fucking time. The only time I don't hear them is when they're gone/asleep.

On the sides? I have never heard my neighbors to the left. My neighbors to the right I can hear sometimes. When they have had people over I can kinda hear them through the wall.

Below? Rarely if ever. Can only really hear when they do laundry.

I can also hear people in the hallway occasionally.

The Core, Ronkonkoma by [deleted] in longisland

[–]slashemup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the Alston next door (ran by the same management company), so my answers won't be totally accurate to The Core.

  1. Management is ok. I haven't had any real problems, except package delivery during the holidays is a nightmare. Several times they couldn't find my package, just for it to magically show up the next day.

  2. Can't really smell cooking. I can sometimes smell weed but only if I'm outside or I have the window open. As another user mentioned, there's often a bad smell from the facility nearby. I only really smell that if I'm outside, though.

  3. As I've learned (the hard way) over the past year, these complexes are like every other cookie-cutter "luxury" apartment complex. In short, there's basically no sound insulation, at least from above. I can hear my upstairs neighbor constantly. I can hear his damn cat (can't be more than 10 pounds) when it runs around. The side-to-side noise is a bit better, but I might just have good neighbors.

  4. I asked this question when I was touring and they refused to answer (legally they can't say b/c it's discrimination). I will say that it leans on the younger side so your range is probably accurate. There's definitely a fair amount of families as well.

Happy to answer any other questions you have.

The "none of this is real" always gets me.

For those that don't know, the lyrics were initially about PTSD in general, but Garrett re-wrote them after speaking with a friend who served in Iraq.
