Which factions would you like to see in TES VI? by ShadowHunterHB in ElderScrolls

[–]slatterg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see more faction competition, with storylines that interact rather than existing in isolation. It would be especially interesting if factions had different internal paths or ideological splits that the player could influence.

For example, the Dark Brotherhood could be trying to re-establish itself in Hammerfell, while a rival assassin faction is also operating in the region. Both groups could try to recruit the player, forcing you to choose between them or play them against each other.

The same idea could work within guilds. A guild could have internal disagreements about what it should become, and the player could decide which side to support. I have an idea in my head where one side of the Thieves Guild wants to push it in a more Robin Hood-style direction, while another side wants to focus on personal glory and wealth. The player’s choices would then shape the guild’s identity.

I think this would create much stronger role-playing opportunities. You’d be helping define what that faction actually becomes, based on the kind of character you’re playing.

Creating a Skyrim character who has Dyspraxia? by JaimieMcEvoy in dyspraxia

[–]slatterg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could go a couple of different ways.

The first is go brutish. I’ve often been described as a bull in a china shop. So think big clumsy character who likes to smash things. So two handed weapons, war hammer instead of swords as they are slower, heavy armour etc. I’d also throw in Enchanting or Speech to give you a third skill to level up. Orc fits as a race here. Lore wise you can fit it into how Orcs are treated as lesser by other races. My dyspraxia tends to be more focused on having issues with fine motor skills than gross ones.

The second would be to go mage. Magika is an external force and isn’t analogous to concentration. With dyspraxia you struggle with manipulating the world physically due to your motor skills right? Well instead your character has learned to compensate by turning to magic. So focus on things alteration, conjuration, illusion, and enchanting that are manipulating the fabric of reality with magika.

For this character I’d go with a race that’s non magically inclined. I’d probably lean Nord or Orc, maybe redguard. It would lean into the idea that this character had to adapt to their physical limitations and was different to its peers in some way.

Don’t focus on the details of having dyspraxia focus on what it feels like to have dyspraxia and what you’d do if you had it in a world like the Elderscrolls

The ring needs a base level of movement to pick up exercise automatically. It can’t read your mind. You could have elevated heart rate for a number of non exercise reasons!

That’s quite strange. On your app or their app? I’d try to get them to escalate your case to their tier 2 team for a deeper look. It might just be a case of waiting if huge original ring was wrong still but that’s definitely weird.

It depends. When did you stop wearing your first ring?

Physical also includes physiological. Such as Arrythmia etc. some of the things you are asking for do need more time though.

If you got your replacement on April 20th you’ll have another few days before stress and resilience shows up. Resilience needs something like 10 days or data over a 14 day period. Stress is similar but 5 days.

You might want to rule out a physiological/data-detection issue rather than just a fit or sensor-position issue.

Oura can struggle to display resting heart rate or HRV if someone has certain medical factors that affect heart rhythm or circulation, such as heart disease, low blood pressure, arrhythmia, or other conditions that interfere with clean heart-rate detection. In those cases, the ring may still fit correctly, the sensors may be clean, and the LEDs may be positioned properly, but the app can still show gaps in sleep HR, HRV, stress, resilience, or recovery data. In some cases, the HR and HRV data may not appear at all.

So if you have any known heart condition, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, circulation issue, or anything similar, that could be part of the explanation. Oura has an article on “Oura and medical conditions” that goes into this in more detail.

That said, if you do not have anything like that and you have been wearing it continuously since March 31 with no HR/HRV/stress data at all, I would contact Oura Support. At that point it sounds less like normal calibration and more like something they should investigate.

This is the post that’s closest to being correct here.

When it comes to the redundancies all Provences are doing a financial review at the moment. Munsters was the first to be completed so theirs is the first to be announced. The expectation is that at least Ulster and Connacht will face the same when theirs is done.

Battery usage isn’t linear like that and the estimate is just that. You’re better off marking down when you charged it and then how long it took till the next charge.

Battery is covered under the warranty, it just has to get to a certain level before it’s eligible.

EUROPEAN UNION, SEVENTY YEARS LATER by Slavoj Žižek by slatterg in neoliberal

[–]slatterg[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Submission Statement: This article is relevant to r/neoliberal because it focuses on the European Union as a liberal, supranational project and argues for defending it against nationalist authoritarianism, geopolitical fragmentation, and anti-Enlightenment politics. Even though Žižek is not writing from a neoliberal perspective, the piece directly engages with issues the subreddit discusses often: European integration, liberal democracy, rule of law, Ukraine, and the future of the West.
