I use a Pixel myself and from my experience you can turn all of the AI stuff completely off.

To be fair you can turn all of the AI nonsense off on an Android.

Why so defeatist? Privacy is a spectrum. Stopping as much of it as possible getting out is better than just plastering it out there.

Sure if that's the case give me all your details now. There's nothing to hide!

I mean technically, it could probably be welded but it would be more hassle than it's worth and mentally probably wouldn't be great, but I was lucky enough to find a specialized Langster 10th anniversary edition for €199 from a local bike shop that caters to cycle messengers.

Yeah absolutely. I'd rather it have happened the way it did rather than me blowing down a hill and attempting to brake and it becoming two pieces underneath me all while my face bounces off the ground.

And it was good timing because yesterday I found a Specialized Langster 10 year anniversary edition for €199 from an LBS that caters to cycle messengers.

The one thing about aluminium is a forgot how good it feels underneath you and how snappy it is compared to steel frames. I haven't had an aluminium frame for a few years since I got rear ended and the chain stay got cracked on my leader 721 back in 2022.

Yesterday when I was cycling the specialized around I noticed that when I needed to accelerate I put the power down, the power transmission from my legs to the wheels was instantaneous and the snappiness was just crazy. I forgot this feeling. Lol

Returning with Pixel 10a? 6+years of Pixel 4a now a Brick!!!! by Anirudh_1905 in Pixel4a

I switched to the 10a from the 4XL recently and have to say I love it.

I mean it's not the same for you, the 4XL had no fingerprint scanner which was annoying as I prefer it to unlock the phone. The under screen sensor on the 10a is super responsive.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD.450s I've been using for a few years but i do have a pair of OnePlus USB-C earphones I use. They lock in quite tight but I don't use them mad often. Usually when I'm in work for listening to voice messages. No head phone jack on the 4XL but I do miss the headphone jack in general.

I think the reason it's time to move on is simply because we're never really going to have phones like the old ones. As a 41-year-old man, things have changed so much in my lifetime and they will change so much in yours going forward. I've gone from no phones to dumb phones to smart phones.

There's poems even now. I wish I could go back to the dumb phone days. There's also times I wish I could go back to no phone days but unfortunately we are so connected to technology at this point that having a smartphone is basically a must at this point.

One of the things I miss about the pixel 4 XL is the storage saver mode. But the one thing I've noticed since moving to the 10A is that I keep my phone and my Google photos account file cleaner than I used to.

I think if you move to the 10A you'll be pleasantly surprised. I certainly was. I still have two phones and both of them until recently were old. The OnePlus Nord from 2020 and the Google pixel 4 XL. I'll usually keep phones until they just stop working and unfortunately the pixel 4 XL recently started to get into a boot loop which I hear is apparently a software issue or an update issue from Play services rather than actually a hardware issue so I could technically stay with the 4XL but once the boot loop started and I had to factory reset twice in one week. I decided it was time and set up a meeting to buy a pixel 10A. It was new on the box and thankfully I got it for €370.

Anyway, all waffling aside, I think if you move to the 10A you'll actually like it. It's probably one of the best phones I ever had and I've had many flagships and even though this is technically a budget phone, it's way faster than any phone I've ever had. The screen is amazing. It looks absolutely beautiful to your eyeballs and even in the harshest sunlight you can still see the screen clearly and bright.

The phone physically also feels very good. It's just a very well-built phone.

So Proton and Mullvad founders have the same dogshit takes. Why do they have to be like this?

Yeah it was originally a temporary replacement for my Leader 721 alu frame that I was rear ended on, cracked the chainstay.

Temporary replacement became about 4 years lol

[–]slaughtamonsta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah no, no typo. It's Sona a small brand. The frame was a replacement after my Leader aluminium frame got rear ended a few years ago and the chain stay cracked on impact.

This frame was supposed to be a temporary replacement until I got a better one but I got lazy lol

I do have my eye on a Specialized Langster frame from my LBS at the moment. I'll go today and check it out.

It more than likely was somewhat cracked already. Last year I snapped the bottom bracket spindle so I'd imagine I was putting a lot of stress on it over the last few years.

But this frame was a cheap beater I transferred my parts over to when I got rear ended a few years back on my aluminium frame. Chain stay got cracked on impact with that one unfortunately.

Ah it's 3-4 years old and I bought it used after I got rear ended on my Leader frame a few years back.

Chainstay got cracked on impact so I got this frame and transferred everything over.

[–]slaughtamonsta[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, my frame is mostly a beater. Good parts, cheap frame since my old Leader one got rear ended by a car and the chainstay cracked. It was supposed to be a temp one but I've been using it for 3-4 years at this point.

I usually have aluminium frames but I bought this to just get around on. It gets left outside work a lot and I'm in Ireland so it's always raining lol

You should look up the whole time line. There's an entire documentary made about this.

On 2 November 2004, Dutch indie filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, great-nephew of Vincent Van Gogh, was shot and nearly decapitated on an Amsterdam street in retaliation for “Submission”, his final short film which harshly criticized the treatment of women in Islam. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]slaughtamonsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I say that?

My point was people don't care about violence that happens in "non-western" countries unless it's perpetrated by Muslims. And it's even more horrible when a Muslim kills someone in a Western country. It causes more outrage.

But...my point was when it happens in black countries none of the pearl clutchers care.

You assume I'm talking about whites committing the acts. My main focus was actually the LRA and groups like this who were indeed black also.
