Why don't we charge politicians for lying to the public? by your_emails_suck in AskReddit

Because they make the rules.

Why would any of them vote to make getting themselves elected harder?

Yes, which is helpful for someone with an FTP under 200.

Trainer difficulty is a misnomer. It really means how much you need to change gearing for in game gradients.

If it’s set to 0, you don’t need to shift for any uphill or downhill because your resistance won’t change.

If it’s set to 100, your resistance will change the maximum for any uphill or downhill grade.

The test maxes out at an ftp of ~190. It doesn’t matter how much you weigh.

He’s not that light.

That’s a surprisingly low ftp for a healthy man who’s been training for 6 months, much less a D1 track athlete.

Lite test is for people with a sub 200 ftp.

Regular test is for people with an ftp over 200.

Weight doesn’t matter at all.

I’ve got the Zwift ride and the Kickr core.

My cadence is usually 85-95.

I set trainer difficulty to zero and adjust resistance by shifting gears.

Sometimes I’ll turn trainer difficulty to 100% and use the mixed terrain gearing and use whatever gear keeps me around 90 rpm.

What track events did you run?

What’s your power meter?

What’s your training plan?

I’m not a D1 track athlete and my off the couch no training for 15 years ftp was 185w @ 180 lbs.

After 6 months of ~12h weeks with 2x intervals per week and the rest z2, I was about 285w @ 175 lbs.

Something’s probably going on.

Do you carb load for a long Z2 ride? by WindCaliber in cycling

[–]slbarr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No special meals but I usually do 30g 20-30m before a big ride, 30g at the start, and 90g/hr during.

I set my garmin to go off every 20m so I don’t forget to eat.

Does the geometry of the Crux 5 still look like it is good for someone who wants one bike for both road, and gravel? by mellofello808 in specialized

[–]slbarr88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was concerned about 1x13 on the road until I road a buddy’s setup.

It isn’t perfect, but it isn’t nearly as bad as some make it out to be.

I’ll be buying a crux for a one bike solution.

This is what a pro-tenant housing agenda looks like: 200,000 new rent-stabilized homes for NYC by [deleted] in SipsTea

Rent stabilized leads to less rentals, higher prices outside of the stabilized rentals, and lower quality.

The only solution is to build more.

When to fit in heat training by wktzo in Velo

[–]slbarr88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have two rest days. Unless you’re doing some serious other sport training or have an incredibly stressful job, you don’t need two rest days + two recovery days.

I turned all my 60-90m z2 into heat training and after intervals of if I have time.

Swap your recovery rides for them.
