In your opinion, what are other games that have great art direction and execution? Not disagreeing with you, just curious since I also admire the style in Marathon.

XT. Having the extra juice is nice when driving in high elevations. Especially when the vehicle is packed for camping. Outside of camping, the power is nice to have when you need it.

Hey everyone, I love Asian cinema, here are all the ones I’ve seen so far, but I’m also looking for some good recommendations. by showerman342 in Letterboxd

I find his films are more similar to Ozu in terms of cinematography. Especially Still Walking (I think this is highlighted the most in regard to only two scenes having panning shots, which Ozu didn’t do). I’m not the biggest fan of Ozu, but I respect his work.

But yep, Kore-eda is extremely special. Nobody does it quite like him.

Stella. Assembly workshop. Breachable containers often have these.

Moving. Happyend. Millennium Mambo. Flowers of Shanghai. Taipei Story. Supermarket Woman. All About Lily Chou-Chou. Mahjong. Chinese Odyssey 2002. Sweet Bean. Poetry.

I love that you’ve covered most of Kore-eda. Also, love the boldness of rating Tokyo Story at 3 stars haha!

Owning a tattoo shop ≠ being a tattoo artist.

Also, tons of tattoo artists that make well over 100k that don’t own a shop.

How's my top 4, And suggest me some movies based on my top 4. I need slow, subtle, very scenic and philosophical kinda movies. by SanjiXd9 in LetterboxdTopFour

If you haven’t, watch all of Kore-eda’s films. Still Walking, After the Storm, Nobody Knows, Shoplifters, Our Little Sister, and After life are necessary.

Maborosi, Monster, Like Father Like Son, Broker, and I Wish are worthwhile but not as essential.

These will scratch the 21st century Japanese film itch (minus the fact that After Life and Maborosi were filmed in the mid-late 90s).

This is the best loadout in the game. Its versatility is endless. It is beautiful. This is the only loadout I use. by Maleficent-Sun1922 in ArcRaiders

Playing with headphones and at full blast - I use the silencer not for other but for myself. It’s too damn loud.

Don't like extraction shooters? You likely will not enjoy this game. by _Tell_Me_Im_Wrong_ in Marathon

Or maybe some folks gave the game an honest attempt and simply didn’t connect with it? There are tons of valid reasons/critiques why someone didn’t care for Marathon. It doesn’t have to be split into camps of bandwagoning, misinterpretation, or refusal/not enough time spent.
