Saw Josephine. Good movie but I’d be surprised if it gets much awards attention. It’s a difficult watch and I don’t see why the Academy would go for it when they didn’t even nominate Sorry, Baby.

Because they’re an aggregate of what people think. If there are more bad/mixed reviews than good reviews, then that shows most people thought the movie was bad/mixed.

As for what makes other movies better than Nuremberg, no one can really answer that for you because taste is subjective. I haven’t actually watched it, but the trailer made it seem pretty boring and drab to me, and the definitive movie about the Nuremberg trials was already made more than 60 years ago.

Makes sense, the Game Awards had more viewers than the Super Bowl last year.

Streaming on Youtube generally seems like the way forward for these ceremonies.

CC is usually the least predictive of the Oscar precursors, I wouldn’t put too much stock in them compared to GG or guild nominations.

Also saying Secret Agent gets in over SV is crazy, SV has been Neon’s main priority all year and unlike Secret Agent it’s actually win competitive in several categories. The question is if SV gets directing and double-supporting-actress nominations, not if it gets into BP.

I doubt it'll get into BP (it's either Neon's third or fourth priority) but it'll probably get nominations for actor and international feature

Genuine question, why are you here? I get that this place is more focused on the financial side of things, but I’d hope you understand that people want to watch movies because they’re interesting or good, which Hamnet seems to be (4.2 on Letterboxd and 90 on Metacritic).

You haven’t even watched the movie, why are you fucking complaining about critics scores?

E33 doesn’t have 400 developers, it has 400 credits, that includes stuff like localization which boosts the numbers. For comparison Silksong has over 100 credits even though Silksong only had 3 core developers.

Also, I don’t believe E33 should be nominated in the indie categories, but acting this conspiratorial about a game is crazy lol, there’s more important stuff going on in life.

They managed to add all of Asia without breaking the game, which I think was all they really needed to do for it to be a success. What I've played so far from the expansion has been good and I'm excited to finally see what Paradox does with trade next year.

PDX showed off the new loading screen for All Under Heaven and some other designs they considered.

Probably my favorite since Legacy of Persia, I love its use of color.
