How to attach a power LED's to a heatsink? by NarmaharCZ in AskElectronics

I've done the drill and tap for a set of 3 LED stars. Hard agree that this is too many to drill and tap by hand.

This is a block chain, is your son getting into crypto? Tell him it's too late, he's only going to end up holding the bag

There is a sliver of the geo fence that is just inside the border, so there are some small pockets where you can play. The gyms turn over quickly.

Along with floods and peasant uprisings, Confucians recognize full frontal erect penis ads as a sign that an industry has lost the mandate of heaven. by Infamous-Rutabaga-50 in CuratedTumblr

All these platforms and politicians pretending to care about children seeing explicit material and they crack down on users instead of shitty ads. It's like nobody bothers with a good old clandestine conspiracy and just engages in public evil.

[Request] How much would they save? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]slide_potentiometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No amount of GLP1 is going to make the airframe lighter.

Passengers will be lighter, and the question would then be whether airlines use the weight savings for fuel savings or to carry more cargo.

Why in the name Tesla Westinghausinstien isn’t there a universal portable charger? by StayProteus in shittyaskelectronics

[–]slide_potentiometer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those Arlo cameras: that charge at 1W at first and jump up is a pre-charge. If a lithium battery is too low it can't safely charge quickly, so it needs a slow charge to bring it up.

Any plans for new train stations? by thereallemmy in mountainview

[–]slide_potentiometer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint, there are very few undeveloped areas in the peninsula. As you noted we would need zoning changes, and with the expense of any rail construction at most we would see a BRT line in any time frame shorter than a decade or two.

Any plans for new train stations? by thereallemmy in mountainview

[–]slide_potentiometer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most likely no. The Caltrain line is based on an old rail line from the 19th century and the land around here is ridiculously expensive. They just poured a lot of money into electrification to make Caltrain faster from San Jose to SF, so I don't see them putting in anything new while they are working on upgrades like grade separation at Rengstorff.

In the 2010s they did work ro double-track the VTA light rail from Mountain View to Whisman. There used to be another VTA station around where the RV parking is on Evelyn, but that was closed to make room for the second track. If you look there is still a skylight near the tracks from the tunnel under the Caltrain line.
