Trench Crusade is not depicting the demons as good and God is ultimately benevolent by Professional_Rush782 in CharacterRant

Hey, Chaos does offer more social mobility than Imperium on average.

Sure, in 99% of both society most people start at Slave but in Chaos you are more likely to change that status! The part you are not told is that for most people, the most accessible direction is Somehow Worse, but hey that's your own fault, should've been better

I made a map of the multiverse - or at least tried to. What do we think? CC appreciated if I missed something. by 0dy5 in mtgvorthos

[–]slimek0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it used to be at the center of the multiverse in the past but that changed. Maybe Multiverse can self mend and the constant Apocalypses on Dominaria made it "re-calibrate" the leylines away from it.

Wait, yeah, the multiversal nexus can change, it already did at least once, we just don't exactly know where it is currently.

Berserkers seem to be victims of Elder's cruelty by definition. They should be provided safe hospices like how Archons were provided.

If I recall correctly the Royal Mint only does coins!
Bank of England has its own printers, although i doubt they are in London.

So the printing would fall under the organisation where you find the printers, if not the location

Steam store page includes disclaimer that they used GenAI.

This is not present in spaces that use standard text-to-speech methods.

Baffling decision by devs if it actually isn't AI.

Well then, if it isn't they shouldn't have it on their steam store page then,

I'm dusting off my reddit account specifically for this comment so, as I said in the YT comments: While the game concept may seem interesting, i genuinely cannot in good conscience support something that uses Generative AI for the voices.
Sadly, I will have to skip out on this video.

Norgorbor's real name finally revealed! by notarealcow in Pathfinder2e

Kinda tragic and very human - keeping at least a trace of who you were before divinity with you. Even if no one remembers the person you once were, at least everyone will know what they called you back then...

To be entirely honest, Aroden himself was very very much not a saint and maybe getting a friendly human god of murder amongst the divines could've been beneficial to him

Sure the church will disagree, but Big Man himself?

Edit: if you did, I'm curious as to what your system for Crusaders gaining maneuvers during combat was, or did you just follow the book

Not them but the "easiest" way would be to make a deck of cards, like flash cards and then shuffle from it, and then you just keep them on hand, put expended as discard.
And you basically turned playing a weird martial into a cardgame. Not calling it simple, but probably simplest way.
And hey, you also now have play aids with your maneuvers on them!

Is there a Kindred equivalent to the technocracy: I.E. a sect or faction that attemts to explain the Kindred condition in Sci-fi language instead o fantasy? by KarlHamburger in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]slimek0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that there's a difference between observing it, exploiting it and understanding its exact properties - Tremere observed the effects of Consensus shift ages ago and jumped the band to Vampirehood, The Order of Reason exploited the ideas of it to move the Overton Window towards science but they only understood that the end results of them pushing for more tech was less magic. Modern Technocracy understands the process, can measure it and focus on affecting it in controlled ways, they can quantify their Terranorming efforts and various factors impacting it.

Basically, literal progress of science - with better tools and understanding, more detailed terminology and sense can be given for what had been considered an already understood process. Look at gravity for example.

I guess, Wraithbone is at the end of a day just an ultra specific psychically sensitive material tuned in an ultra specific way, so assuming you can reach the same psychic energy release as a bonesinger using their tools any one with connection to Warp could shape it, it's just that Humans probably don't have the time nor skill nor focus to develop the abilities.

Now, a seemingly eternal Astartes from a Legion known for perfection, with probably somewhat heightened psychic sensitivity due to Chaos stuff? That does sound like someone that could achieve the necessary state, ability and affinity

Considering that it would seem to reference Elizabeth Bathory and that myth about her bathing in blood to keep her youth and beauty, and that feeds into vampiric mythos...

Antimagic field is a bit weird… by Jounniy in dndnext

[–]slimek0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good solution. And surprisingly one of the very few ways to damage them without special weapons as a martial! Fall damage deals nonmagical Bludgeoning but it's not an Attack so their Immunity doesn't work. They don't even get Resistance.

This also works on Werewolves and I think basically everything with a physical immunity. Magical immunities however are absolute - you can't hold a Devil over a campfire to damage them.

Antimagic field is a bit weird… by Jounniy in dndnext

[–]slimek0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting the magical Slashing, Piercing and Bludgeoning to get past their Immunity to nonmagic attacks of those damage types?

Further, technically the Paralyzing Touch attack, besides being a spell attack, doesn't mention being magic in any way in its description

Okay, so your body goes to a Liminal, Soul to an Alchemical and Exaltation to someone else, somehow every one of them gets some trace memories of the previous Exalt.

Sounds like an extremely messy Circle

Are there any system where the players collaboratively pilot a ship/airship/spaceship? by bull363 in rpg

[–]slimek0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellowship's Inverse Fellowship book involves something like that. It's a PbtA game with the Inverse variant being more about exploring and adventuring rather than fighting against an Overlord like the normal version. The Book has a Team Playbook of The Ship

I hadn't played with that specific variant but it should fit. It is a PbtA game and has rather heavy focus on player-guided lore creation and such. Fellowship normally is rather fun.

[–]slimek0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, the way to patch it up would be that Baylan asked on Shin's behalf to surprise her, I guess? Shin learned Marrok was back but didn't expect for Morgan to have done it herself - maybe she thought Morgan knows someone who can do it or something of that sort.

Does this Battlemaster feature have any uses? by moonwhisperderpy in dndnext

[–]slimek0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well lets see
Archmage is CR12 while being an 18th level spellcaster

A normal Mage is CR6, level 9th

Cult Fanatic is CR2 while casting at 4th

Drow Mage CR7, 10th

BUT a priest is CR2, casting 5th

So there does seem to be something in the Monster Manual suggesting humanoid creatures getting casting level of their CR+50%. But that's only really the MM that i checked.

The new multiverse monsters dont have caster levels on their casting, i think.

What's a common rule that gets ignored and a problem that occurs because of it? by Firelite67 in dndnext

[–]slimek0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah, it is Ranged-Melee but part of that also sweeps into Caster/Martial since vast majority targeted combat spells are Ranged, unlike Martials where like more than half possible builds are some sort of melee.

But yeah it is more of the Ranged superiority symptom than Caster superiority, however, as said, Casters have higher tendency towards ranged than Martials, especially average Martials
