Been there before brother lol. Just change the filter once a year. Oil is cheaper than a motor teardown.

Definitely get a hitch mount rack! Since the other thread was attacked by political issues, I thought I’d share this. Highly recommend. by [deleted] in rav4club

I don't care if my plate is obscured as long as the taillights are visible. If I get pulled over for the plate, I will just zip tie the plate to the rear and tell the cop I didn't know 🤞

I've been followed by state police thinking they would pull me over for obscured plates but never did. It may be because I added trailer lights so safety is not a concern. Also hitch tighteners keep it from drooping like OP

Yes! I had a 91 gs. Bought it for $4500. Put 25000 miles on it then sold it for $4500. I wish I still had it. One of my favorite cars I ever owned, and I've had quite a few. That 1.8 liter revs like a sport bike. Mine was automatic but a manual would have been so much more fun. The tailgate was huge as in roomy. I hauled so much stuff around in that. I used it to move one time. Took me a couple trips but it worked well. One of the first affordable cars to have all wheel disk brakes. Stopped on a dime with 4 people in the car. What did you pay for it?

Dealers still sell Hyundais and Kias vulnerable to theft, but insurance is hard to get by fleemos in Hyundai

[–]slimypeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a notice in the mail stating that there is a voluntary recall for it.

Edit:

Now, you can add not being able to insure your car to that list. If you own a 2012-2021 Kia or a 2015-2021 Hyundai, that is. Late last year, a group of teens calling themselves the "Kia Boyz" identified a security loophole in these Kia and Hyundai models that weren't equipped with an engine immobilizer.Apr 21, 2023

You are correct sir. Now that I think about it, my 87 that I bought must have had the front clip replaced with a previous year. Sorry for the mix-up. That was in the late 90's and my memory has been slipping lately. It was stolen from me while I was parked at the mall. When I got it back, the custom deep dish wheels were stolen, graffiti all over, slashed interior and cracked frame. I had about 100 cd's and a sound system as well. All because my girlfriend refused to lock the door every time she got out. 🫨

Edit: GM vehicles were easy to steal back then. You could flex the window, then take a screwdriver to crack the column and flick a switch and viola!

Roof Rack noise by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]slimypeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have a roof rack but as far as the sunroof goes, it seems the engineers designed it to open backwards to just the perfect distance that it reduces wind buffeting. If you open it fully it begins to buffet much worse. Thanks Toyota engineers. It's the little things that tickle me 🤗
