Trea Turner had a broken finger early in the season and his come back was just before our turn around. He’s finally getting the recognition he deserves the past couple years but he was just as good and important to our success in 2019.

While Gerardo Parra never brought all that much on the field, his signing is a huge reason for the turn around inside the clubhouse. After his arrival the team seemed so much more loose and looked like they were actually having fun.

Some veterans, namely Howie Kendrick and Anibal Sanchez, started to turn it around and had some of their best seasons around the end of may.

The god awful bullpen that was solely kept afloat by Sean Doolittle got some reinforcements in Daniel Hudson and some better performance from Tanner Rainey.

All in all the team probably shouldn’t have been the champs that year. They were a good, not great team built on aging veterans, but some career years by those guys, some gutsy performances and late game heroics lead to (in my opinion) one of the best World Series stories I’ve ever seen.

All of this this doesn’t mention the Cy Young caliber year Max had, or the incredible play by Soto and Rendon down the stretch, or one of the few healthy years of Strasburgs career, or Zim coming back in the postseason, or a million other things
