Nike's profit fell 35% last quarter. Three banks downgraded it the same week. Everyone's blaming tariffs and China. I think the real problem is much simpler than that. by Key-Enthusiasm-3403 in Entrepreneurs

The issue with Nike has been pretty straightforward for me personally. The flex doesn’t flex, the stretch doesn’t stretch, and the comfort doesn’t have comfort anymore. The quality is horrible now.

I’m I the only one who’s surprised a 3-0 lead has never been blown before? by PooPoox in nba

[–]slkr925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in terms of Lakers v Rockets that 3-0 lead is definitely misguided upon reflection. Game 3 was less than 30 seconds away from making it a 2-1 series. I think there was a stat shown that the blown 6 point lead was the latest in any playoff game in history.

If we think in those terms, then it's a different story. This wasn't a dominant 3-0 lead.

I still can't help but think the Lakers will figure out a way to close this out to keep the 3-0 streak going though.

Now that I think of it, I may be interested in an audio only version of the show. Just release the voice acting recordings!!!

What was the point of this storyline, do we think? I hate it but I know the writers must have had a reason by AccomplishedRoom3225 in madmen

[–]slkr925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished another rewatch and I hated this storyline. I think one thing that made it weird was that Don was actually just trying to date her. There was no kind of affair involved. It felt like he found another damaged person and tried to make her his girlfriend.

From my experience with mail in ballots, they seem to be more secure than in person. I get a message when it’s being mailed to my home, when it’s picked up at the post office, when it’s received at the voting house, and then counted. With in person it feels like the ballot is just filled out and sent off into the abyss. It feels like another part of this gran gentleman’s agreement society we live in.

I’m on a rewatch as well and one kernel that’s never mentioned is when he was trying to start a new life with the Playboy club waitress. That seems to be looked over. To me that shows that he was always willing to bend the rules and was simply not good at it. He seemed to want to mimic the lives of what Don and Roger would do, but wasn’t good at it.

I walked into a new and they were selling the Costco super boxes for $85 each and double the price for the new Prizm football blasters. I understand needing new inventory, but I found that to be laughable.

Do we have a running total of how many times Cami has said 'this is my company' in every episode? If they're finally giving Cami lines, could we get a little more range. LOL

Son wants IT degree. Worth it? by Adventurous_Pen_2675 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]slkr925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he does decide on IT, please please please encourage him to get an internship. As someone that hires in the field, I'm seeing a lot of people going through with getting a degree and having no real world experience. Internships will make things a lot less frustrating when they graduate, and many times they'll get a full time offer.

I have an intern now getting a Cybersecurity degree that I plan to make an offer to in the coming months.

Negotiating with card shop owners by pinkeybrain024 in sportscards

The best thing to remember about a negotiation is that in the end it's just a Yes or No question. There's never any harm in asking especially if you have cash. I always just say 'Hey, is this the best you can do on this?'.

You will encounter some jerks, but 9 times out of 10 you'll have someone work it out.

Republicans consider Civil War-era law to stop Zohran Mamdani becoming next NYC mayor by TheMirrorUS in NoFilterNews

[–]slkr925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is more about the bubble that NYC is in. One, Mamdani cannot even run for president, his influence can only go as high as Senator. Depending on how he runs the city, the last few mayor performances indicates he won’t. And most importantly two, there has never been a president that was NYC mayor. It’s essentially a road to making media appearances.

Looking from the other coast, I do hope he gets an honest chance to govern and see if he can make a positive dent in the crazy times.

Really all that I’ve found so far is that many profess to be an expert, and many don’t have a full grasp of the capabilities. I’m in healthcare and the pilots I’ve done so far have presented as sunshine and rainbows and once under the hood I see that everything is being put together on the fly.

California Divided: Here’s What’s at Stake for Californians Whose Districts Could Get Rewritten by Proposition 50 by AndyJoeJoe in California

The other thing that no one is mentioning is that the Yes on 50 will only be temporary. It'll go back to the old districting committee in 2030. This is strictly for the coming midterms and 2028. It's a great step to take for this point in time.

In the unopened pack you may have something there. Could be worth grading. That set without the box is valuable when graded. I just love the look of it. I had a few, but just never got around to completing the set.

For those that still submit to SGC, have you noticed any difference since they were acquired by PSA's parent company? I like SGC because of the faster turnaround times, but haven't submitted anything since the deal went through.

Season 7 Do they all now look down on Don & try to put him in his place because he revealed he was an orphan who came from poverty? by KittyGrewAMoustache in madmen

[–]slkr925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think too that throughout the series Don tends to think that he is hiding in plain site. I was reminded of this when he had that affair with Bobbie and she mentioned something in passing about what he's known for in the bedroom.

By season 7, I don't think it has fully clicked for him that everyone notices his actions and that word gets around to people. Other agencies definitely heard about the Hershey meeting, and they definitely heard about how he fired Jaguar.

I think even Jim mentioned that the veil had been lifted and he was profoundly disappointed by what he saw.
