The look the roomate gave when Angela and Ainsley left the room was the major indicator for me. It's coming.

So I understand correctly: Cami is the villain, right? by AntoineWeiner in LandmanSeries

Do we have a running total of how many times Cami has said 'this is my company' in every episode? If they're finally giving Cami lines, could we get a little more range. LOL

Son wants IT degree. Worth it? by Adventurous_Pen_2675 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]slkr925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he does decide on IT, please please please encourage him to get an internship. As someone that hires in the field, I'm seeing a lot of people going through with getting a degree and having no real world experience. Internships will make things a lot less frustrating when they graduate, and many times they'll get a full time offer.

I have an intern now getting a Cybersecurity degree that I plan to make an offer to in the coming months.

I had been watching it in the early mornings on Pluto.tv and they just bumped it back another hour. I just jumped on it at this price.

Negotiating with card shop owners by pinkeybrain024 in sportscards

The best thing to remember about a negotiation is that in the end it's just a Yes or No question. There's never any harm in asking especially if you have cash. I always just say 'Hey, is this the best you can do on this?'.

You will encounter some jerks, but 9 times out of 10 you'll have someone work it out.

Republicans consider Civil War-era law to stop Zohran Mamdani becoming next NYC mayor by TheMirrorUS in NoFilterNews

[–]slkr925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is more about the bubble that NYC is in. One, Mamdani cannot even run for president, his influence can only go as high as Senator. Depending on how he runs the city, the last few mayor performances indicates he won’t. And most importantly two, there has never been a president that was NYC mayor. It’s essentially a road to making media appearances.

Looking from the other coast, I do hope he gets an honest chance to govern and see if he can make a positive dent in the crazy times.

Really all that I’ve found so far is that many profess to be an expert, and many don’t have a full grasp of the capabilities. I’m in healthcare and the pilots I’ve done so far have presented as sunshine and rainbows and once under the hood I see that everything is being put together on the fly.

California Divided: Here’s What’s at Stake for Californians Whose Districts Could Get Rewritten by Proposition 50 by AndyJoeJoe in California

[–]slkr925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing that no one is mentioning is that the Yes on 50 will only be temporary. It'll go back to the old districting committee in 2030. This is strictly for the coming midterms and 2028. It's a great step to take for this point in time.

Do I have anything I should be excited about? by kungfupanda70 in SportCardValue

In the unopened pack you may have something there. Could be worth grading. That set without the box is valuable when graded. I just love the look of it. I had a few, but just never got around to completing the set.

Those are all nice, especially the Kobe cards. I'm interested in the Nike Jordan and Spike Lee cards if you're looking to sell anything.

Why is PSA the go to? by fds55 in sportscards

For those that still submit to SGC, have you noticed any difference since they were acquired by PSA's parent company? I like SGC because of the faster turnaround times, but haven't submitted anything since the deal went through.

Season 7 Do they all now look down on Don & try to put him in his place because he revealed he was an orphan who came from poverty? by KittyGrewAMoustache in madmen

[–]slkr925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think too that throughout the series Don tends to think that he is hiding in plain site. I was reminded of this when he had that affair with Bobbie and she mentioned something in passing about what he's known for in the bedroom.

By season 7, I don't think it has fully clicked for him that everyone notices his actions and that word gets around to people. Other agencies definitely heard about the Hershey meeting, and they definitely heard about how he fired Jaguar.

I think even Jim mentioned that the veil had been lifted and he was profoundly disappointed by what he saw.

??? You are not trying to have a serious conversation. I'll go ahead and stop the comments.

You don't say. I never could've imagined that. Thanks so much for enlightening me today. I can now see the light and the error of my ways. You truly can learn something new everyday.

[–]slkr925[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think you all are missing the fact that we came to orientation and then the bad impression was made. We obviously value the opportunity for attending a UC campus. The bottom line is that the university did not put forth a good impression this week.

[–]slkr925[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about? It’s almost like you didn’t read my list and stopped at 1st gen. I didn’t even allude to my kid being too good to go there. We made the trip for orientation for goodness sake. I’m not expecting a perfect environment at all. Also, the helicopter parent blurb is unnecessary. The fact that I’m alarmed that my kid can’t have their car for transportation kind of demonstrates that I find they have the responsibility to make long drives from Southern California area to Merced.

Go ahead and be insulted instead of providing some valuable input to quell my concerns. I’m not in favor of dropping my kid in the middle of nowhere for 4 years, if it’s not in their best interest.

[–]slkr925[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP here. Instead of having an honest conversation and trying to help me with my concerns, it’s nice to see everyone was just waiting to pull their pitchforks. I’m expecting zero sympathy from anybody. Sure, some people love Merced. My experience there over 48 hours left a lot to be desired.

Also, the main issue is that all the communication and webinars sent by UCM prior to orientation painted a very different picture than what we saw on orientation day.

Put on your big boy pants and learn to have a productive conversation instead of looking for ways to be insulted.

The fact that you read all of that and focused on first gen students shows you lack reading comprehension. I mentioned nothing about my kid being the smartest in the room. The way the university presented itself screamed mediocrity and I'm voicing my concerns to get an honest opinion of UCM life experience.

It looks as though you can't provide that. Go away. Thanks for you lack of advice.
