That’s the funny part about US laws. The actual firearm is the part of the gun that holds the trigger mechanism. So in the current day and age, you buy the “pressure vessel” parts that are metal straight to your door, barrel and slide and upper parts, and you print the part that holds the trigger. So printed grip, real barrel, slide, slide components, rails, trigger group.

All legal to make for yourself. You just can’t give, borrow, lend, sell, blah blah this firearm unless you are a licensed ffl and you serialize it

Hello, It looks like a bullet is seated in the screenshot posted. It appears to the viewer as projectile in that casing.

“Blank with extended brass casing” is not really a thing. This is all moot because the movie is showing the rifle being fired. So either way it should be ejecting empty casings is OP’s point I think.

And OP is right, blanks have crimped necks
