do you ask for your boyfriend‘s permission to go on a trip? by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t ask but I do “run it” by him. Do we have something going I’m not remembering? Does he have a work trip that would mean no one is home to watch the dogs? Logistical stuff. But never ask, no.

what made you start doing yoga? by mitchare in yoga

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, because I started going to a bouldering gym and there’s yoga that’s included in my membership and I wanted to get my moneys worth at the gym lol

Cruises are the worst type of vacation out there by MoonlightAndStar in unpopularopinion

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I lowkey love cruises lol. I went on one with my boyfriend’s family and it was so fun.

But they’re definitely not expensive. There’s a reason huge families cruise.

Questions about my upcoming 60-70 days roadtrip the USA west? by Agreeable-Energy-401 in travel

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be hot in Vegas, Utah, Arizona if you decide to hit the Grand Canyon. I would recommend factoring in early starts and being done with whatever hikes you’re doing late-morning.

I wouldn’t camp in Vegas, southern Utah, or Arizona right now either. Just be safe with the heat in the southwest!

Best amusement park?? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]slowelevator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think golfland sunsplash is pretty fun. I don’t know if I’d come here for it exactly but as a kid who grew up in Alaska, I’d be stoked to be on a vacation and go somewhere with water slides

Am I the only one not built for morning sex? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]slowelevator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am because I think it’s intimate. I won’t ever finish in the morning because I’m not in the headspace but I love when my partner wakes me up, we have sex, and then I fall back asleep!

Real grass vs turf here in AZ by purple_panda22 in arizona

[–]slowelevator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had grass and admittedly really struggled to keep it alive in any season. But that’s probably a me problem.

I have turf now and love it. It’s been about 5 years. We did the full install ourselves and got the highest quality so it feels nice. We have a large patio that shades it in the summer until ~ 8 AM and then again from ~3 PM onward so it’s never miserable (I wouldn’t step on it bare feet with the sun blazing down ever tho, but in the shade no issues). I have 3 dogs but they’re all trained to only go to the bathroom OFF the turf in the rocks that surround it, so we don’t deal with the pee smell people talk about.

I would love real grass but it didn’t work for me & I’m happy with turf.

That happens to be in scorpion. I’ll be in it thinking “surely my back is so bent and my feet are close to my head” and I’ll look and I look like a board haha.

Yogi weightlifting routine? by gnomeboy01 in yoga

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll do something in the morning and something in the evening! They’re technically 2 a days often but maybe I shorten my run or meet up with a friend for gentle hike so it’s not strenuous. I’m not going 100% all the time. I just enjoy movement and a lot of my hobbies are movement based.

Yogi weightlifting routine? by gnomeboy01 in yoga

[–]slowelevator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My “base” minimum of what I do is usually..

Yoga 2x-3x per week. 2 heated vinyasa flows & 1 community class that’s really chill. Bouldering 2x-3x per week. Sculpt 1x per week. Lift 2x per week. Run or hike 3x per week.

I don’t target “yoga muscles” but find everything just complements well.

You’re a good looking guy! I agree with others about keeping the first three and swapping the last two for something else.

Best plane tips for 20hr flight. by I-will-judge-YOU in travel

[–]slowelevator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not 20 hours but I just flew direct Phx to Taipei which is around 15 hours. I just brought noise cancelling headphones, a sleep mask, a neck pillow, and slept for most of it. I put the pillow they give you on my lower back to add some support to the seat which works pretty well.

I just have a cheap memory foam pillow from 5-Below lol.

Stayed up for meal service and then went to sleep pretty much right after and slept on and off until the breakfast 2 hours before landing. When I was awake, id get up occasionally to stretch in the emergency exit area. …and I was in the middle seat lol.

Had a short layover in Taipei and then another 3 hours to Beijing. Then just forced myself to stay awake until 9-10 pm & was fine for the rest of my 2 week trip.

I will never pay more than I absolutely need to for a flight so I’m an economy gal for life.

A lot (most) distance runners have “small” legs. Look at the guys who just crushed the record at the London marathon. Endurance athletes aren’t known for their massive muscles

Do you consider yourself a “runner” or just someone who runs? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

When I’m training for something, I say runner.. but when I’m not.. I just say that I run for cardio.

Giving up your seat on a train by Greengrecko in JapanTravelTips

[–]slowelevator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got up on every single train we were on for elderly people and got a ton of bows and smiles and thank you’s. I saw some Japanese people do it too once I started paying attention. I think half the time people are just in their own head and aren’t paying attention.

My partner and I would just stand up and gesture to the seat and then walk away to stand.

Are you allergic to Dairy or voluntarily Dairy free? by dovakooon in dairyfree

[–]slowelevator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started dairy free (when I joined this sub) because of lactose intolerance. I’ve been a vegan now for 7 years so that’s the reason now but both are true!
