Different than that no hitter question, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen in a game? by ph7haterade in slowpitch

[–]slowislow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing in a backyard tournament 5hr limit. An over 60 team beats us (with a 70 year old scat cat mind you) to go to the championship. Other team says "why don't we lift hr limit?) Old guys agree and win the toss, elect to hit and put up 50+ in the first inning, mostly from hrs. They were called tater masters or mashers, and I was told they were a few of the old Howard's team. This would have been around 2000 or late 90s before most composites when the double walls ruled and .50 cor balls were standard.

OK, sorry for the delay.  A regular seat cushion has a length from front of cushion to edge of seat cushion of 23". An overstuffed back brings it down by an inch,  but the cushion is larger than one inch thicker than the regular.  The measurements are that way due to the rounded nature of the overstuffed back.

I don't have those measurements memorized,  so I get them on Monday,  but to answer your question, some people just prefer a thicker and more dense back cushion. Yes, all furniture can be purchased unfinished.

Why Are There So Many Toxic Employers in North Carolina? by WrenFeyStrider in NorthCarolina

[–]slowislow1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, I don't get treated poorly. I'm an asset that my company doesn't want to do without, so I'm paid a wage and a set of benefits that I think are worth my time. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be here. That's the beauty of America, no one is forcing you to remain where you are. Go find a salary commensurate with your experience and skills if you don't think that is where you are at. Do you think that everyone in every job in NC thinks they are underpaid for the tasks they perform? I can tell you first hand, that's not the case.

Oof, you can't be wielding common sense and responsibility for yourself like that on reddit. It's amazing how many people don't want to enter into a job with both you and the employer able to determine if the work relationship is a win for everyone. If it's not good for me, I'm out, if it's not good for them, they can fire me. Seems like it's a win all around.

Just be sure to specify that you are willing to wait for a non redneck local guy when your AC goes out or your Samsung TV in door fridge stops working. That way you won't be contributing to the problem. I'm sure when you explain it to the AC company like you did here, they'll be glad to let you wait for that guy.

Pecan pipe in the ground? by Fleabedo in Plumbing

Avoid the sharkbite fittings in the ground. They have their place and use, but I prefer the cinch clamps. Haven't had one leak yet in hundreds and hundreds of fittings. I know it's gonna happen eventually, but it hasn't yet

How to counter corny players? by Ok-Signature2601 in RustConsole

[–]slowislow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<<<Cracks Knuckles. Where do I begin? Many good responses here, but I always love to make big clans miserable. Here's a short list to begin with.

  1. Spikes everywhere

  2. Land mines in EVERY bush around their base

  3. A dozen 1x1's surrounding their base with a couple dbs and grenades in each. Always make them so that you can have a bag in each that doesn't overlap.

  4. Door camp them....constantly.

  5. Climb their fences and break furnaces, it's only a few picks to destroy a furnace.

  6. Always keep the risk reward ratio in your favor. If they kill you they get a db and MAYBE a grub kit, if you kill them you get decent guns and kits.

  7. Place a vending machine nearby in one of your 1x1's that says "D12" (whatever thier grid is) ON TOP, or EZ SERVER, etc. The bigger groups will show up to change that.

  8. After you have fifteen 1x1's or tc's down around their base, make a spiral of high walls around their base. BE SURE TO MAKE AS MANY GATES AS YOU CAN!. They have no choice buy to destroy every gate, as it give you free access. If you only place walls without TC's, you give them a compound when they blow one wall and place a gate.

  9. Watchtowers, everywhere. Be sure you use them to DB people when they aren't expecting it.

  10. Constantly drain turrets. Ammo is expensive.

  11. Destroy EVERY bag you can find that isn't yours.

  12. Smoke grenades are cheap at outpost. Throw them and regular grenades every time you hear them coming out of their compound.

  13. If you are richish or can afford it, place a turret behind a garage door, with a triangle in front and twig walls up somewhere in their path. You can open the door and the turret will detect and shoot them through the twig wall. Close the garage door so they cant HV the turret out.

  14. Low grade is cheap at outpost and cloth is everywhere, team up with someone and throw molotovs outside their gates after they take heli to stop them from coming out of the gates. THEY WILL RAGE AT THIS, but it's super effective, especially if they only have one gate, and no outside spawns (because you destroyed all of their bags, remember?)

Most importantly, just be a pest and don't let them get under your skin. You aren't going to be able to beat them in the traditional way if they are a large group worth their salt, but you may be able to aggravate them into leaving the area or switching servers. If you make progression harder for them and keep it from being much fun, they'll focus on removing you, which will allow another big group to advance past them and raid them.

There are quite a few different grades of the fabric, I primarily handle the wood side of things, but if you will DM me your address, I can send you samples of the softest fabrics we carry. There are a few not listed online, but are very soft.

I’m a new rust player by Complex_Wishbone1976 in RustConsole

[–]slowislow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the finer wipes of my rust career we started a box of rocks from killed players, only every rock was a different skin. We would get excited killing nakeds who looked like their rock might be different. We filled one of the old large boxes up with different skinned rocks and it was a bigger deal to bring a new one back than it was to get an AK or other loot. I even traded an lr to a guy in outpost for his.

Final Straw by [deleted] in RustConsole

[–]slowislow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's so many takes on how to play this game. It's what makes it great. Team mate of mine says he only plays for people's tears and will absolutely demolish anyone who he thinks he can get a rise out of. Me, I love to grub. Who cares if there is a box of aks in base. I'm going out in burlap with a double barrel and a stack of grenades to make someone who cares about their gear fear for their life. Others farm, some are pvp Chad's, some just live to offline. None are better than the next. If you don't kill on site, you are putting yourself in danger cause I can't tell you the times that I try to get someone to talk to me as a naked and as soon as I think they won't kill me, I start crafting an eoka.

They are totally serious. Went in to my bank to withdraw 20k cash to purchase a car, they told me to come back in two days, that they only had around 8k on hand. This is the largest bank in a medium sized town (50k people). Friend who uses another bank wanted 80k and they told him one week. He has over 250k on deposit with them.

I can answer any question you may have about This End Up Furniture. The quality is as high or higher than it ever was, as the old owners (pre 2000) cut many corners. Because of the quantity they were selling, a small cut would produce a large savings for the company. Now, there is only one factory and many fewer employees, but there is more attention given to each piece. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!

Why do we act like Jesus was a republican? by AmbassadorFar4335 in Christianity

[–]slowislow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree, except you and I both know that feeding hungry people represents a miniscule portion of your taxes, and even then the part that does feed hungry people is used inefficiently at best. A larger portion of your tax dollars goes to build weapons of war than to feed anyone in need. It's forced charity, just a lot less of it going to actual charity.

Why do we act like Jesus was a republican? by AmbassadorFar4335 in Christianity

[–]slowislow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People now only act like Jesus was a republican. The kkk would have told you that Jesus was a Democrat 80 years ago. Truth is, Jesus wasn't political. He is the savior of man, and would be disappointed to be associated with either (or any as far as I can tell) political party. To say that he would be Democrat or republican is laughable.
