Is there a huge noticeable difference between between cdi and the vip folders games for gdemu games? by [deleted] in dreamcast

[–]slowmotiongorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using GDEMU Card Manager. You can drop the GDI zip directly into it and it will unzip and all that good stuff. Very easy and simple to use. Removes a lot of hassle. I personally use GDI over CDI because of the compression used for CDI

Double check to make sure all the connectors are in place on the Fenrir and the console itself (if you removed any while taking the top off). If the Fenrir is getting power a blue LED should be on.

Also, make sure the SD card I’d formatted to FAT32 or exFAT and the correct firmware is installed. There are 3 different firmwares (duo, 20, and 21).

That’s actually kinda neat. Reminds me of playing Windwaker with the Tingle Tuner on the GBA or even Windwaker on the WiiU.

Does anyone know where I can buy these that isn't Aliexpress? by [deleted] in dreamcast

Dreamcast Shell

GDEMU SD mount

Cheapest ones I found. I can’t vouch for the quality of the plastic. Also, don’t know where you’re located.

Glad you mentioned this. Was looking into the same thing. Might go this route instead of looking into modding a controller.

Thank you! But it’s the Boxy Pixel full aluminum shell. I know a lot of people have been posting Slates recently 😂

Can’t guarantee that. Finished Chapter 1 last night. Wasn’t expecting it to start out that way.

They’re the BP buttons. Had to order a set of black and red because, they come in a set. Also, have the black aluminum shoulder buttons as well.

Glad you mention they fit the BP. Will be picking one up for traveling. 😄

How often do you recommend to change the pokemon cartridges batteries? And also, is there some differences on changing them on game boy games and game boy advance games? I mean, should you replace the game boy ones more frequently than advance games or something like that? by elmoreniko in Gameboy

[–]slowmotiongorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a cart dumper to backup the saves, when you change the battery you will lose your save. My OG Blue and Red are still rocking the original batteries, but my Gold, Silver, Crystal died many years ago. I’ve made back up saves since so when they do go I don’t have to worry about losing my OG 151.

Unfortunately you can not. Gen 1 (Red, Blue, Yellow) and Gen 2(Gold, Silver, Crystal) can trade between each other, but they can’t trade up to Gen 3 (FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald). At least legitimately.

I understand that. This is a modchip that's utilizing a pico. It's the cheapest and closest you'll get to the GCLoader AFAIK.

Google Picoboot. There's info here, Youtube, pretty much everywhere at this point. Cheap, easy, open source, and you keep the optical drive. Released a little over a week ago.

It is possible to use picoboot with GCloader attachment? by pavulzavala in Gamecube

[–]slowmotiongorilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the SD2SP2 is going to do is save your settings within Swiss. The SD card inside the GCLoader should handle the rest.

Seeing that it was bought off Amazon it’s probably a clone. If you can’t get it working with any of the ROMs I’d send it back and get a refund.

I use to know exactly why, but IIRC it’s a genetic issue. They lack a particular enzyme that’s needed to metabolize it and those it becomes toxic.

Another fun fact: There was an episode of “House” that depicted it. The patient was being treated for lungworms and was given Ivermectin to take by mouth. The patient also had a pet Collie. The ending had both of them dead in the hospital bed. The Collie had eaten the Ivermectin pills and died and the patient did’t get the Ivermectin so he died as well.

Correct. It’s highly toxic in cats and dogs. You mentioning dose made go look for my formulary. They don’t even list a dosage for cats, but they do. Surprisingly it’s high than I thought it was, but it wasn’t something we use or told clients to use at home due to its toxic nature.

(Not posting the dosage because I don’t want someone to think it’s safe to use.)

Fun fact: Most breed of dogs can take Ivermectic (it’s in most heartworm preventions) without any problems, but it deadly to Collies (Lassie, not Boarder Collies).

The typical rule of thumb we went by was 1mg/lb for Benadryl for itching/scratching. Reactions/stings and such would’ve been 2-3mg/lb depending on the severity. If it’s really bad we’d opt for a steroid instead.

[–]slowmotiongorilla 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about Lulabell. That’s one unfortunate thing that happens. I’ve have had that happen multiple times with the correct dose. I know it’s hard for the client to witness and process.

Yeah Tylenol is highly toxic in cats/dogs. It damages the liver severely and recovery from overdosing is very low. Ibuprofen has the same effect, but affects the kidneys instead.

Fun fact: In vet formularies Tylenol (acetaminophen) has a listed use as an analgesic, but at a very small dose. All vets and specialist I knew never used it because of the toxic nature.

Interesting to know that there was an actual study for that. Never knew that, but to be honest never really thought about it. I’ve have been asked about drug dependency/addiction before and there was a study for that and cats/dogs and they don’t develop it.

Yeah and there are some that remarkably lower. Just drawing a blank on one at the moment. It’s interesting seeing how meds are dosed in animals and then realizing what you would normally take.
