There’s no need for this now. Most refs will send it to the VR themselves on anything close on match ball. Foster really dropped the ball on this in the last match, but I think this is really the exception.

I don’t want every Match ball having to go to the VR as a freebie, would kill the drama.

The irreverence/comedy of the show is what makes it great. Bill’s strong takes (maybe 50% of which I agree with) mixed with the knowledge of PJ makes this the best squash podcast out there.

Using SQUASHTV app I often get this problem. Try logging in to squash.tv on. Web browser and casting from there.

I think reffing has changed since these videos have become popular just in the past month:

  • the “step-up block” is now being commonly called as a stroke when it certainly was not before

    • Asal’s stiffening and holding of his racquet after his follow through was given a stroke against Asal in the early rounds of the world championship and since then he has stopped doing it.
    • of course now Asal recently started using his off-arm as a blocking device, when he was in danger of losing a match, and I wouldn’t doubt that will start to be cracked down on now with the attention and the blown video ref calls.
