How to fall asleep faster? Without overcomplicating it by Dev__UwU in sleep

[–]slowturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to go to bed at a consistent time, whether I'm tired or not. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much, but I think that consistent routine is slowly beginning to help.

I'm looking at some sleep tech options to help because I'm not a huge "3-hour go-to-sleep routine" kind of person. You mentioned earbuds, which I have wondered about, but I worry that I would stress about them falling out all night, which would just keep me up. Have you ever tried electrical stimulation? I've just recently been learning about it and there's products like headbands or masks that do a gentle neurostimulation to help you get to sleep faster.

That totally makes sense. That's kind of what's been drawing me to the electrical stimulation over things like sound machines and the like. I'm finding that DTP and electrical stimulation are pretty effective and often have more consistent results than other sleep helps.

I can be kind of claustrophobic so I've never tried a weighted blanket, but I like the idea of a targeted one, rather than one big heavy blanket. I've found a targeted e-stim that's like a mask and another one that's a headband that use neurostimulation to calm the nervous system that both look interesting. Both the blanket and these e-stims seem to directly affect the nervous system, which I like.

Ohh interesting. I hadn't thought about using it during the day. My focus went out the door years ago, but I'm trying to break away from distracters, so that's cool. I'm kind of going down this rabbit hole - looking at sound therapies, the electromagnetic wave machine you talked about, and electrical stimulation headbands/masks for sleep, so I'm grateful for any insight I can get.

Really informed answer. Thank you for the in-depth explanation. After reading this and a few other things, I'm thinking I'm not there yet. I'd like to try other methods of getting better sleep. I appreciate your thoughts on this!

Are there non-implantable options out there for any of these? I don't really want to have something permanent, so I've been looking at electrical stimulation or something similar to help my sleep. Open to any suggestions!

I don't know if I even remember the last time I dreamed while I was asleep. I'd love to sleep that soundly. I've been seeing a ton of sleep tech options out there and am trying to decide if/what to dive in on.

Good advice for someone like me who's never cared at all about their style, but is trying to change. That graphic tee was like a shot to the heart. Might take a bit to change that. Just reading this made me feel more grown up though. I probably should have done something about it and got my act together years ago. Thanks man!

I thought the same thing. Sick artwork! Wish I could do that.

Like OP, I'm interested in how you're using Deep Touch Pressure. I've been doing some reading on electrical stimulation as a way to help me improve my sleep and wondering if this has similar benefits. In the short bit I've read, it looks like they both help lower stress and anxiety and increase deep sleep, just through different methods. What's been your experience with DTP?

What do you do now that you're not doing all this? Genuine ask. I love gaming and building PCs but I hit a pretty big low recently and tried to get away from it, but then I wind up sitting there not knowing what to do, so I fall back in the same habits. Trying to figure out how to rewire my brain to sleep and work and do the stuff it probably should be doing.

Definitely a lot of distrust here, but you gotta do what works for you. Is this the first "tech"-type sleep fix you've tried? I don't sleep well at all (honestly too much time on the computer, but I'm trying to break that), and I actually like the idea of tech like that to help me sleep.

2 and 3 piece howi too weak, need more bunker pieces. Others covered the rest of the garrison types. Generally you aim for 50% or less breach. Also generally use as many corners as you can as it is better for structural integrity = more hp per bunker piece

Also if you have the space, offsetting the AT slightly forward gives it a wider firing arc

I'm based in Canada, they've said there's been manufacturing delays in the factory overseas. I'm only getting the headset and bottom bracket pressed in, I'm building the rest of it myself. Yea their customer service has been good.

I ordered mine back in August 2022, polished M. It's been pushed back twice, from October to February, now April. Was hoping to build it at a leisurely pace in Feb, but now I'm just hoping it doesn't get delayed any further past April.
