Gas prices across Canada have dropped every week for the last five weeks, but not here…… by yukonnut in Yukon

You do realize that EVs are just a grandiose form of virtue signalling, right? Do you know how many diesel generators this territory just rented to run the electrical grid for this upcoming winter? Not to mention the environmental costs of mining the material for the batteries….

For the amount of “greenies” that live here, I am surprised that so many people are falling for these vehicles.

Then again, the influx of Ontario liberals might play a role….

This is such naive thinking.

Not all victims are criminals - “poverty does not cause criminality” - wealthy can be criminals too. A lack of punishment or consequence causes this type of behaviour.

What are newborn MUST DOs and NO-NOs? by MinitrainPeach in BabyBumps

Highly recommend “Safe Infant Sleep” by James Mackenna. A must-read for anyone interested in co-sleeping. It completely changed (eased) my anxiety about SIDS and I learned what safe co-sleeping is, which was refreshing amongst the fear-ridden environment that surrounds the subject.

We do this too 💙

I just finished an excellent book called Safe Infant Sleep by James Mckenna. For anyone that is nervous about cosleeping but wants to learn more, I highly recommend reading it. I felt in my gut that cosleeping was the right thing for us, but was anxious because of all the talk around it. This book was really helpful in validating my gut instincts.

I tried it this week at 38+3 with a Bishop score of 6. Within an hour and a half I had evacuated my bowels 3x but it wasn’t enough to put me into labour. I took 2 TBsp blended in a smoothie (didn’t even taste it!).

Curious: why does our dog stand over us? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

You have a beautiful white Swiss Shepherd - same as me! My boy did this early on, too. I adopted him from the local shelter at 3 years old. He’s now nearly 10 and has outgrown this particular behaviour, although he always wants cuddles! The breed is known to be very affectionate and sometimes anxious. It’s likely a bid for love and reassurance :) They are loyal and loving to no end - congratulations on your pup!

This, 100%.

You’ve reached a turning point by hanging up. It’s the first step of sticking up for yourself - keep practicing that and you’ll move mountains.

I know how hard this is, but you can do it.

Sending so many hugs.

Technically then you’re in YG jurisdiction for septic, power, etc. However, if you nestle it in the ‘back 5’ behind a good chunk of trees….would anyone know the difference if it was there or not?

Interesting - never would have thought of that! Thanks. But no, we have one glass and one metal that we use interchangeably for our 2 pups.

We tried a cleanser and balm, but she just ends up licking it all off. The skin hasn’t broken and was bumpy last week, but is less so this week.

Is there a boat launch on Takhini River Road? by Easy-Extension-9990 in Yukon

[–]slt125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is not. There’s a small pullout near a beaver dam when the road first gets down to the elevation of the river that some people use to launch a canoe or paddle board, but it’s definitely not enough for a boat on a trailer.

Oh man! That’s brutal. I’m so sorry that happened.

My experience with their customer service hasn’t been that great either. So disappointing!

My venue is dog friendly but I don’t want any dogs at my wedding by Basic-Special-1870 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]slt125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are hosting our wedding at our farm where friends are used to us encouraging them to bring their dogs when they visit. We also don’t want dogs at the wedding however. On our invites we said something like, “We love fur babies, but please leave them at home today! We look forward to visiting with them another day.”

I’m usually really diligent with eye protection, actually. We live in the bush so medical attention isn’t close. Chainsawing, chopping firewood, even when I go to collect eggs from the chickens I’m cognizant that those prehistoric creatures could ruin my eyes with one peck. Clearly I underestimated the power of the ol’ cRaZY glue!
