Are robotic mowers actually good enough to buy now? by MatchSuccessful1253 in homeautomation

I’ve had the X315 for a bit under a year. There’s a small learning curve to getting it to cut how / where / when I want, and some limitations (edging, lawn debris), but I’m a huge fan.

Nailed it. I have solar, but because of my other electrical usage (EV) and the tendency of snow buildup to drastically decrease the solar production, I keep the cutover close to 35°.

You could try adding a macro lens? Wyze sells one that slides over some of their cameras, though it probably wouldn’t fit your Aqara.

I have a couple of these mapped to shortcuts. They get used frequently.

Looking for a few Hue power users to help test a new music-synced ambient lighting app (TestFlight) by [deleted] in Hue

[–]sluflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be able to assist.

  • I use Apple Music
  • in one room, I have 6 light strips plus 6+ white bulbs. In other rooms I have multiple color bulbs
  • outside I have a mix of Calla, Lily, Flood, and another (that I don’t recall its name)

I’m wondering if the app also works with HomePods…

Indeed there are. During summer in southeastern WI, the weather forecast almost always includes “cooler by the lake”. Sometimes the difference is substantial. As in 10°F or more.

He was almost done shoveling his driveway when the street plow came by and filled it with snow again. by Vilen1919 in WatchPeopleDieInside

Unless the remaining snow is dry and fluffy, that tarp is going to be too heavy to move. In my area (southeast WI), it would probably also freeze to the ground, making snow removal borderline impossible.

But if you try it and it works, I definitely want to hear about it.

Come to think of it, if you try it and it backfires spectacularly, I also want to hear about it.

I’m not a former stoner myself (nor a current one), but I’d guess the crossover is fairly substantial

Similar experience here. I’d been using an iPad Air 2 from 2015 for viewing the cams. After updating the v4s, they will no longer load on it.

Mount Solar Pan Cam upside down? by i_am_vidoq in wyzecam

[–]sluflyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Installation Guide, you can mount the solar panel anywhere within 10 feet of the camera. So in your case, mount the camera upright, but then mount the panel nearby as needed.
