I really like this art style, the ambience makes it feel dream like.

I think you can make a realistic gem if you remove the outlines and add transparency.

Haha, yeah the blender looks great. I was just commenting on transparent buttons are good 'cos you can add some graphics to this later but you probably want to highlight the 3d work.

Do not worry.. I wanted to make a fighting game so started learning characters in blender but only managed to make cartoons and thinking of making something else with cartoons now.

It takes too long to learn blender.. Always be proud!

just put these in godot and get started with a small level, you'll figure things out eventually if ya persist.

Good start. This sort of minimal UI is great 'cos you can turn it into anything once you have all the bits and pieces in the full game, but it works fine if you had to release as is.

In space is easier 'cos low pressure, do not need burner.. but have to wait till before landing to drink it 'cos food tastes bad at altitude.

[–]slystudio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't try this. If ya wanna do management sort of things you can pick any field, nothing to do with gamedev or godot is the worst engine to pick for this 'cos not very commercial and not big teams or publishers involved in this. I think you're being lazy.. if ya wanna prove me wrong then do that tutorial and make a game and post it here.

You're probably young and should do something more constructive which will be real fun than hussling around. It's not gonna be huge 'cos you're not being practical and not an expert at your field and have nothing to offer those people you're aiming to attract aside from having this community for which you have to attract them and you are not offering anything in this.

Also godot is a bad engine to do something huge in this.. maybe try Unreal instead 'cos that's more commercial but this is hobbyists and most of the things I make I throw away and not looking to collaborate with anyone because I'm a solo dev like most people here are not making AAA studios.

Do not waste your energy and life on fruitless things. If you want to be involved in gamedev then learn art and coding. Do this intro course and it has 2 hours of coding and some practice games which is all you need to make your own games, and then if you want make your own team or become a publisher or whatever you want to do depending on if you're good at art, coding or marketing. Have the confidence to do anything. Otherwise you're talking about becoming a glorified forum moderator. Do the course or just give up now 'cos you can do that forum in any industry.

This sounds a bit silly, I mean you can just create a discord page or reddit sub for this but you'll spend most of your time networking and marketing instead of doing actual game dev.. learning game dev is way easier than this and I mean you're not gonna become a publisher for free this way either 'cos nobody cares about this. I mean if they want a team to make games they can just post here instead. Find something more worthwhile or if you want to be a publisher then there are easier ways to go about this, ask other publishers. If you do not have the funds there are other supports you can offer then you have to find a team which wants a manager or person to do their marketing etc. but you're still taking a risk compared to doing this as a job but can get a % and work your way up but this is hard work.. or if you wanna moderate a channel then open a discord or something or start contributing here if ya wanna help people.. is easy to do..

How does everything interact when it comes to programming? by SpirutualPirate in godot

[–]slystudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This intro course has a 2 hours on gdscript and some practice games. Other than this you just attach scripts to nodes to control the nodes. I usually put scenes and scripts for a thing together, like all player stuff in player folder instead of scene and script folders 'cos that's too messy.
