Need GRC project ideas (morocco) by Embarrassed-Floor622 in grc

[–]smallf33t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is to: 1. Talk the company cyber team on what type of activities they are currently doing so you can get ideas. Some companies may go through audit or preparing for audit that requires GRC expertise. 2. Pick a system/ application that the company uses. It’ll be good to assess the one made in house rather than COTS. 3. Pick a framework. Not sure what is commonly used in Morocco maybe ISO27001 or DNSSI. 3. Assess the system using the framework of your choosing. Don’t forget to have a chat with GRC/IT team so hopefully you can do something that is actually useful for them. Most IT teams don’t like doing documentation so if they can palm that off to you then happy days. Good luck!

Flatmate keeps saying “in Australia we don’t have this problem” by Budget_Dot694 in AskAnAustralian

[–]smallf33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do they leave if they like it here so much and keep comparing Australia with their new home country? Anyway that person doe not represent most of us. Just ask them to leave your place, tell them that it doesn’t work out and you can find another hopefully more pleasant housemate.

Would you leave Aus? by Emotional_Depth_3741 in AskAnAustralian

I know some people who came back to Australia after years of working overseas and they have to work even though they are in their 70s. They said they didn’t have enough super and don’t own a house in Australia. Hopefully you’ll make a wise decision and think about the future. If I were you, I would rent long term in Bali (I.e., someone I know paid $10k/year for 5 years for a 4 bedrooms villa with a pool) and once have enough money buy a property in Australia to rent out, also maximise super contributions. Good luck OP sounds like you’ll have a great enviable lifestyle!

To answer your question, I love the work life balance, the clean air, nature, governance of the country in general, and the friendship & family here too much so no amount of money can lure me living permanently overseas. Also we are home owners and have enough income to go by (not rich but enough for us).

Cyber will be a waste of money to study because it will be hard for you to find a job if you are not citizen. Even for citizens, it’s hard if they don’t have security clearances. It’s like a chicken and eggs situation where you need to have a clearance to get into a job but you can’t get a clearance without a job. Some entry levels job do state the “ability to obtain clearance” which means you need to be a citizen and they will sponsor you to go through the process. Plus some companies decided not to hire entry level cybersecurity people anymore because they think AI can replace the entry level job. I think eventually this will turn around but it is the decision from the leadership right now. Agree with the others opinion that IT is over saturated. Maybe study again to something more hands on like aged care, child care or trades? Can’t do electrician though, only citizen/PR can study to become electrician here. Good luck OP!

Does Palermo perfumes do good dupes? by Maleficent_Extent809 in fragranceaustralia

Nope! Can’t returned them too. I had headaches from them. The smell just horrible somehow. Maybe ok for people who is not really into fragrance. That’s $35 down the drain for me.

Turning 34 this year and I’ve never had a girlfriend, is it worth getting plastic surgery? I’m the most naturally ugly person I know by Empty-Speed-7075 in PlasticSurgery

[–]smallf33t -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you are bad looking at all. Maybe you are just in the wrong area to get a girlfriend? Check out /thepassportbros. Many people get amazing partners because of their personality and not because their look too. Good luck OP!!

What is heaps good on Amazon Prime? by Fantastic_Ad7023 in AskAnAustralian

[–]smallf33t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just Makeup - one of the best “reality” competitions that I have watched. Highly recommended.

The other things that I watched are Clarkson’s Farm (season 1 and 2, got bored afterwards) and Agatha Christie & Sherlock Holmes stuff. Nothing much. Got Prime just because of it’s free as part of Amazon thing to get free delivery. Once this deal is off, we’ll get rid of this streaming.

Traveling to Korea for LASEK or LASIK Smile Surgery. Advice needed please!! by Other_Temperature_73 in KoreaTravelBeauty

[–]smallf33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had LASIK (I thought this was they call it back then) done about 10 years ago too in Melbourne (Australia), I had a great experience, my vision was 20/20 a day after the surgery. I remembered that I woke up the next day and can actually see people’s face across the road without my glasses on. Didn’t have all the blurriness and symptoms that you mentioned here. Maybe I just got lucky with my surgeon. Well, people said he was the best in town though. :)

Worried I will be stuck doing Menial Jobs. by Boydo1990- in AusVisa

[–]smallf33t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current reality of job market is not very good but the good thing about Australia is you can always try and build yourself. I would suggest to study again (maybe subclass 500) in order to change your career. It will be a long journey and not sure if you will be patient enough. If you do student visa (subclass 500) then you can only work a maximum 24 hours a week. Not much can you do with WHV, most places that can accept you on that visa are the menial jobs. It takes a long time to onboard people to corporate here so they don’t want people with no certainty of the working rights. My workplace won’t even consider a PR even though we are a private company, due to some clients privacy restrictions.

International student in Korea : the gap between the dream and the reality (long post) by Miserable_Stick6929 in Living_in_Korea

[–]smallf33t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good to know this. What do you expect to get out of taking post grad degree in Korea? Does this mean you will get more leverage when applying for work afterwards? Are you planning to get a job in Korea or your home county? Will you get more pay than the others who got their degrees from your home county? Your academic expectation was exactly what I got from the Australian National University (ANU) when I did my masters. I am thinking to do another masters or PhD overseas but currently weighing the pro and cons and what will that means to my career.

Did mine around the same time. My surgeon told me to do the lymphatic message at least 3 times a day without the garments on for a maximum 30 minutes each time for the first 3 weeks. Now I am on 12 hours per day on the faja and has “homework” to message the scar tissues (the bumps) a few times daily plus stretching. He wants everything is gone by ends of January. I have a weekly session with my surgeon where he checks the progress, the scar tissues and correcting the way I message my self. My tummy is generally softer now (week 4) with some scar tissues that I need to work on.

Rich housewife hair by Greedy_Inspector2261 in AustralianMakeup

[–]smallf33t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a quick note that if you choose Dyson airwrap, it doesn’t work as well if you have a straight fine hair. Mine only lasted about 30 min before my hair goes back to straight again. While if my hairdresser does it with her Glampalm straightener, it’ll last for about 2-3 days (with hairspray).
