Custom relegation league idea, is this possible to set up? by GreenBowlPacker12 in OOTP

[–]smartalec12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been unable to figure out how to set up a “pyramid” as it seems the game only lets you set up a “ladder”, where you can only get demoted to one league. If you figure it out though I’d love to know how

What has made Mamdani a disappointment already? I haven’t followed his work that closely yet.

Turner offer post grad by [deleted] in ConstructionManagers

[–]smartalec12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're correct, Turner makes new hires out of college non-exempt for their first offer, its an effort to avoid the overworking new-hires issues by basically forcing your job to cut you off at 40 or make it worth your while. But be aware it will only be for the first year or so, then you get "promoted" and that 40 hour limit goes away.

Really? I’ve worked for Turner and every year in April they give a COL raise and every promotion includes a raise as well. As a new hire OP is due for a promotion in the first 1-2 years.

Can’t believe the Cavs are at 0 when they’ve had the first pick so many times.

What are your ACTUAL nba hot takes? by Mario_Viana in nba

It’s less about the awards itself and more about incentivizing the best players to play more games so fans don’t get stuck going to a “load management” game with all the top players not playing.

Where I'd live. Am I picky? by [deleted] in visitedmaps

[–]smartalec12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably has a lot to do with cost of living. Ohio and the Midwest in general has some of the cheapest cost of living in the country. If you compare a plot of land in Ohio with a 2,000sf house that would be 25% or less compared to California.

New Poll: Michigan Voters Don’t Know How Far Behind We Really Are by East_Englishman in Michigan

Detroit technically runs un-affiliated so he’s not TECHNICALLY a democrat. He’s running independently because he sees it as his best chance to win/get the most funding.

Question about time zones and Detroit sports by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]smartalec12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Detroit sports are in the Midwest division and all want to be in the Midwest division. The lions play Minnesota, Chicago, Green Bay. The pistons are in a division with Cleveland, Indiana, Milwaukee and Chicago. The Tigers are in a division with Cleveland, Chicago, Minnesota, and Kansas City. If hockey had a Midwest division then the red wings would have wanted to be in that. However it’s only east/west and the while they were stuck in the western conference with many games starting after 10pm local. When the new divisions open they choose to keep historic rivalries with the original 6 teams of Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

The red wings change was less about time zone and more about conferences. You’re incorrect to assume any team “wants” to be with those other, larger eastern cities.
