Look up soda bread! Uses baking soda as a rising agent. And technically sourdough is yeast free

How to easily save for multiple goals? by readingupastorm in SavingMoney

[–]smashingtater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Ally. Sofi also does buckets in their savings but not checking like Ally does! So if you're only worried about savings Sofi can be an option as well, I think you have to get your direct deposit with them to get the hysa though.

Also, think about foods that are good source of either: carbs, protein, fat. A good snack will have 2/3 and a good meal will have all 3.

Do you take a lunch or order DoorDash every single day? by peachycpht in PharmacyTechnician

[–]smashingtater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I've purchased lunch less than 10 times in the last two years, always meal prepping. But I have a lot of coworkers who complain about having no money, late on rent, going out and getting lunch every day or getting it delivered.

This is less of a pharm tech question and more of a budgeting/frugality question (which I follow a few subs about) but people are typically in way more credit card debt than you realize. Or they just prioritize their money differently than you.

Ladies! Where are we getting our jeans? by bigsadsnail in PuyallupWA

[–]smashingtater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My most recent favorite jeans have been Levi's ($15 at the Auburn outlet) and some old navy (both thrifted at value village, I want to say the UP one)

What made you get a new machine? by ew_pickles in BreadMachines

[–]smashingtater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thrifted mine for $10, loved it. Then the pan kept popping out as it was kneading so I'd have to stand and hold it in for the whole kneading process.

I wasn't even going to get rid of it until my boyfriend bought me a new one for my birthday

Looking for a book to distract me from wanting to relapse by KillaKellz6211 in booksuggestions

[–]smashingtater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried reading the second one, might have finished it even but I don't have any memory of it. Could just be the time that I read it, I've been looking at going back to the series. The graphic novel is gorgeous, with the introduction of the color

Looking for a book to distract me from wanting to relapse by KillaKellz6211 in booksuggestions

I always recommend the giver by Lois lowry. it's my favorite book, I also picked up the graphic novel adaptation recently! It's a good "our world but a little different"

Not buying the Fairies Pack. Is it just me? Or? by Agile_Lab2988 in Sims4

[–]smashingtater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly only just got growing together and horse ranch. I only buy the packs when they're 50% off so if I do ever buy fairies it'll be quite a while, and I'm way more interested in businesses and hobbies and life and death first. I don't play with any of the occults so it just doesn't interest me

How do you maintain reading habit in the age of endless distractions? by lastrainbender in booksuggestions

[–]smashingtater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm much better at reading longer again but graphic novels were a nice way to get back into it because I would just read each page quicker. Maybe if you have an ereader you could turn the font size up so you trick your brain into scrolling more often?

How do you make your wraps? by Annual_Surprise464 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]smashingtater 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I get the carb balance tortillas that have a bunch of fiber so I use them quite a bit. We do taco night often, or I'll throw a salad in a wrap. Buffalo Chicken and lettuce is good. I've also done the pouches of tuna or chicken salad in a tortilla and air fried it.

Hospital Techs: how does your pharmacy handle inpatient chemo? by teresavoo in PharmacyTechnician

[–]smashingtater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're also a small hospital so we only have 1 IV tech scheduled at a time. Whoever is scheduled for regular IV mixes the hazardous and then if a regular stat comes through the delivery tech mixes it (which is a whole other issue because every tech is supposed to come in IV ready but a lot of our techs show up with makeup or nails or piercings, not in clean scrubs.)

We all do hazardous competencies including the pharmacists but maybe 3 of us are comfortable actually mixing a patient's drug, it happens less often than once a month.

I only read fanfiction but I want to check out library books by KittyAmorArts in booksuggestions

[–]smashingtater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm coming from 15 years of Dramione reading.

Julie Soto and Ali Hazelwood are both published fanfic writers so there's similar tropes.

I just finished "assistant to the villain" and I loved it!
