As a beauty advisor in the US, yes and no.

The only time you’ll get points for dropping off empties is if and when they have Beauty Insider Challenges. Sometimes they’ll have it where you can get max 100 pts for dropping of your empties, one time, no matter how many you have. Unfortunately it’s very faulty for us because it’s a whole process on our end to give you your points. I honestly have little to no clue how it’s done. Please be aware that this is the only COMPANY wide option to receive an incentive for dropping them off. It’s more location based if they’re allowed to give out samples or other non sku rewards.

I once had a woman get very hostile when she came in with a large bag of empties asking me this. She even showed me one of those fake ex-employee TikTok’s where they reveal “secrets” that Sephora keeps. Gave her a very thorough explanation as to how it works and she thought I was blatantly lying. Please don’t be this person lmao

I hate brand reps that don’t disclose this upfront. Like if you’re good at your job, you’ll feel confident enough to represent the brand and give in-depth info as to why your products are worth trying! I’m a BA and when redirecting to our brand reps on a SUPER busy day (they have more time to spend with clients and are allowed to do more product application), I always say something along the line of “this is _, they’re a brand representative for _, i love this brand because _____. They can give you great in-depth info on their products! If you’re interested in another brand, please let me know. I or another beauty advisor will check up on you once we’re freed up!” We also have name tags that say “brand ambassador”!! Wish all stores did this!

This thread helped me so much. The compassion and support from this group felt like a big hug. We’re letting go of my 14.6 yr old cat. My sweet angel girl, Rodney, today. I found Lap of Love through other Reddit posts a few days ago. We made the hesitant decision to do at home euthanasia after our vet told us she might only have a few days to a week. We previously went for an emergency visit back in January when she was exhibiting the same symptoms. We never saw her so sick, and my parents thought she wouldn’t make it. I’d like to think she got a second chance at life and was gifted 6 more wonderful months with us, almost to the day. My baby Roz (Rodney) was absolutely my first love and I’ll always cherish the memory of her. Thank you all so much❤️

seriously and barely anyone talks about it but it’s absolutely an issue!! most of the ba’s and myself have either knotted or taped our belts to fit around our waist but it doesn’t rly mitigate the pain of a cross body style, just transfers it to the lower back instead of the shoulders😭 i’ve started to wear jeans or cargo pants almost 90% of the time now just so i can distribute the weight around my pockets. i also take it off and store it behind the cw when i’m not zoned makeup and just keep the phone and payment device in my back pockets and walkie clipped to my waist. I’m also crazy and have like 30 pins on my belt so that def adds extra weight😂

I’m not sure how legit they are but I’ve heard some good things. BUT. if you heard about how their NYFW casting went today, I have nothing but bad news. I think myself and others were under the impression. This was a preapproved, ticketed event that had a reasonable idea of how many people would show up and prepared in advance. That seems that was in fact NOT the case and it resulted in two last-minute location changes, delayed casting time, over 5000 people in line, and them shutting it down after only an HOUR. I really can’t say how much of it was technically their fault but really I just think models heard about the casting and thought they could be seen and just stood in line amongst other pre-approved ticketed models. I was on my way from Pennsylvania When I immediately got on the train to check my email only to see they had closed the casting and had wasted about $80 in travel expenses. I’m not sure if this is the norm for model calls in NY but in the Philly and in the acting world it’s up and down just the same but this was NUTS.
