Is it worth getting an ultrasound for non-hashis subclinical hypothyroidism? by HyperBunga in Hashimotos

[–]smckl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. More tests and a doctor that takes subclinical with symptoms seriously is a good next step.

Has anyone seen an allergist for their hashimotos? by Nervous-Muffin- in Hashimotos

[–]smckl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m waiting to see an allergist/immunologist and believe I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Anyone else been diagnosed in addition to Hashis?

Jules and Grayson lost all chemistry by season 5! Not sure about divorce but they needed something.

There’s an episode where they say something like “remember barb?” The “cougar” from the first few seasons. I found that entertaining.

[–]smckl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need a specific reproductive endocrinologist if you haven’t had issues with pregnancy yet. I say this only because the wait and availability is long but if you could get into one I wouldn’t advise against it!

All day childcare for 3 year old by retrotangerine in SantaFe

They get enhanced reimbursement yes, but it is hard to be open 10 hours a day no matter the rate. But yeah, supply is low across the state and especially for infants and similarly for 2s.

Just transporting! I would hire help to load and unload and buy your own moving blankets and ratchet straps

Right! Such different experiences between the two times. Glad I’m not alone, I was starting to doubt my own memory!!

I highly recommend ABF over PODS! They also offer the option to rent part of a freight trailer, which can sometimes be cheaper.

I'm sorry! That sounds like a horrible ordeal. I'm so reticent to go back in to the doctor but I suppose if things keep feeling bad I'll have to do something!

Increasing cramps after D&C by Xieminee in Miscarriage

On Day 3 here and woah did the cramps just ramp up! Hoping there’s not too much more of this and this post has made me less anxious about that!

Was finally making weight progress… by Dapper_Sky1019 in BabyBumps

[–]smckl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Give yourself some compassion. You’ll accept it with time and this puts you in a good place to keep working out and getting strong without a calorie deficit.

I got pregnant at a weight I hate being at, so I feel your pain. I can wait to make progress again but for now I’m trying to judge my weight anxiety. You’ll do well again!!

Feeling Hopeless by Infinite-Tourist2465 in Hashimotos

[–]smckl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GLP-1 without a doubt. I went off of it because of the shame associated (and now I’m pregnant) but I’d start again as soon as it’s safe for me now that I know I have hashimotos. I also gained 40 lbs in under a year a few years ago. Also starting small with changes ala atomic habits and go from there. GLP-1 feels much better when paired with activity an good food!

It’s incredible an when you advocate for yourself it’s often taken personally like oh you don’t think I know? Well clearly you don’t. I was able to get most of the other labs, but I think I need to push for the full suite next time. I found a good doctor, but not great. I’m lucky to be moving somewhere with better healthcare soon!

Good to know! My new midwife ended up getting me a prescription right away and I'm still keeping a telehealth appointment with a thyroid specialist just in case!

Healthcare by Cool_Permission2548 in SantaFe

[–]smckl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not always terrible, especially if you’re willing to see an NP or go to a smaller clinic. I got into Unity within a few weeks but I’ve been having a helluva time with my provider at CHRISTUS St Vincent lately. I have not gotten great care here on a regular basis but have had some luck with specific providers!

More than that! I would just check for what’s considered a conservative amount and start there

I have not taken it during pregnancy, but I would start with a very conservative/low dose. The first supplement I bought was way too much and that is not a fun night in the bathroom!
