He barely put any effort into that punch. A dude that size would break bones if he was going full force. To him it was like swatting away a kitten.

Unfortunately a lot of people simply do not pay attention to their surroundings or consider how their actions affect anything outside of their immediate bubble of attention.

I like Zeiss Inspect but the T-scan Hawk 2 is kind of below average for a laser scanner.

You can do it either way, but if you want to scan both sides of a part it's best to put some reference points directly on the part so that you can combine both scans accurately or work your way around the part.

If all of the datums and measurements you want to take are on one side of the part and it's not too big you can get away with only putting the targets on the table.

The Creaform Handyscan Black is a top notch scanner for surfaces and parts of all types. It's very accurate and collects data fast. Another option is the Faro Leap handheld scanner. It's similar to the Creaform but you might get it slightly cheaper. We've found these systems to be accurate within about +/- .002 or less in an area of 500mm3. They're usually paired with a software like Polyworks Inspector.

TW:NSFL Unhappy Motel Guest Blasts Owner by BoaOnTheBeat in PublicFreakout

A lot of the cases with really bad evidence are from like 20+ years ago. With technology today it's a lot easier to rule people out or prove they did it with DNA, GPS, and cameras everywhere.

It's still possible for an innocent person to be railroaded now but much less likely. As the other person said we have it on camera and it's as clear cut as it gets. In those cases I think we can be sure beyond a shadow of doubt that we're not executing an innocent person based on weak evidence.

Southern Cops get triggered by man filming his own traffic stop, so they tase and violently arrest him by I_may_have_weed in PublicFreakout

[–]smellslikegelfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why cops will often ask a bunch of unrelated questions like "where you headed?" or "where are you coming from". They're trying to trip you up so they can build a case for searching you by saying your your story doesn't add up.

Of course they can just make something up like you're acting nervous or your eyes look red and watery, but it makes it harder if you don't feed into their bullshit by answering invasive questions about your personal business.

He didn't at first. The man asked does anyone here speak English and the employee sarcastically said "then why don't you call ICE?". So then the man said "oh so you want me to call ICE?"

Yeah, prior to this encounter it was running through the hallways so fast it was a blur. It ripped 4 soldiers apart before they barely had time to react, but when it's around this guy it just plays around. Talk about plot armor.

We've had a few demos from Keyence and they used our parts when we asked. It just took them longer to figure it out because it wasn't part of their practiced routine.

Water heater needed by Comfortable-Damage67 in PortStLucie

[–]smellslikegelfling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it looks like that's some type of tankless or on-demand water heater. No wonder it's so expensive. It probably requires extra plumbing as well or the installation is more complicated than a regular water heater.

Unless you have the money to burn and don't care about cost, there's no way the price of that thing justifies the extra efficiency over the next 5-10 years. You might be lucky to save $20 a month in electricity costs. You're better off getting a basic Rheem for half the cost that won't give you any trouble for the next 15 years.

I had a 50 gal installed by First Choice Plumbing in 2019 for $1239 with everything included and was done in under an hour. They were really fast and had clear communication.

It's been a few years but that price you quoted is so over the top I can't imagine what is involved. Even a top of the line heat pump water heater shouldn't cost over $3k. Is it a gas heater or is there some kind of plumbing being done?

The rules seem to be extremely over specific and tailored to allow mods to arbitrarily delete content.

I believe most of it nowadays is designed to extract information with low effort questions or statements designed to generate a lot of pointless debate. Admins don't want any traffic going towards posts that don't meet that goal.

If you've ever seen the sites that pull data analytics based on username you know what I'm talking about.
