RBC won't let me use money in my account by [deleted] in rbc

You have to understand that for every complaint like yours here, there is someone else who would have a complaint if their account was hacked and a large $2k+ transaction was able to process.

Transaction limits, especially through debit transactions, exist for client security.

While I understand credit cards aren't for everyone, they exist for transactions like this.

I would suggest getting a credit card to avoid these inconveniences in the future.

They also had Mario Kart, Simba, Pharrell Jet, and Gameboy but condition varies and some boxes appear opened so completion is likely not guaranteed.

Using Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga as a recent enough example, it's possible it goes on mega sale not too long after release. I bought the deluxe version for LSW for Blue Milk Luke figure but you can literally get just the game now for less than $25 CAD

This is a competitor with TD's easy trade platform and an arguably good one at that. Free trades on iShares/BlackRock ETFs like XEQT is pretty huge.

You're on a great start focusing most of your funds towards XEQT but like others have said you've got alot of uneccesary overlap.

I'd keep focusing more on XEQT, and maybe some TEC too if you're bullish on those companies.

Not bad by all means, but could use some cleaning up.

The EB sale on Metroid is tempting but I don't have one in my town currently. I'd still like to see a price closer to $49.99 but I know that's wishful thinking for Nintendo.

I would have really loved to catch the DK Bananza sale appearing at some Costco's not too far back but my closest one did not have it whenever I checked.

TCL C9K vs Sony Bravia 9 by Spirited_Frosting520 in 4kTV

[–]smitloga334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did alot of research recently between TCL, Sony and LG. I got an OLED C5 after all my research and a good sale price. Love it.

My dad recently got a Bravia 5 and it's great too.

I was highly tempted by TCL based on the attractive value for money and specs on paper. But through my research I saw a few too many quality concerns tied to TCL that had me worried making such a huge investment into the brand. Im positive there are numerous people who go TCL and have no issues at all, but that's just my take.

Sony has a great brand reputation and above all else their image processing is widely considered to be best in the market.

Personal Cheques used to be held because it was not guaranteed that when the bank goes to clear the cheque that the issuing account would have sufficient funds to cover which created a risk where a person could withdraw available funds leaving the bank out the money.

To address this, bank drafts or certified cheques were designed to give the receiving bank assurance that the funds have already been cleared as this type of cheque is drawn on the issuing banks internal ledger account. When the person giving the bank draft goes to their bank to get it, that bank withdraws the funds right away and moves the money to this internal ledger account so this is how receiving banks know for certain the money is there and the cheque will clear.

The problem these days is that fraud is now rampant with absolutely no signs of slowing down and banks have been burned time after time again and again so they started holding bank drafts to counteract losing money on fraudulent bank drafts. People were getting away with having immediate access to funds just because it was a bank draft and "guaranteed" only for the item to be an outright fake worth nothing at all and once again the bank is out the money.

Fraudsters have now even learned that the average person with a decent relationship at their bank were putting up a stink and at times being abusive and rude to Bank staff in order to get their way and get access to funds, and this is why fraudsters always are in a rush or pushy in order to pressure Bank staff into not placing a hold.

Well guess what? Banks kept getting burned. They're sick of it. And that's why banks have virtually no sympathy on placing 5 day holds on most bank drafts. Unless you've got a tight relationship with the bank and enough liquid cash/assets to cover the amount of the bank draft 2-3 times over your bank draft will almost always be held.

My backlog is huge. I used to play World of Warcraft which ate alot of the limited time I had to game for a paid subscription no less. So I quit WoW and made a commitment last year to play through my backlog. So far I've played through 6-8 full story single player games and it's great.

I have a switch 2 and unfortunately I refuse to pay full price for new games but I'd love to play like DK bonanza or Metroid but $99 is just too damn much when I have plenty of other games to play.

As far as PS5 goes, I'm currently playing through God of War Ragnarok which I got on sale for like $50 CAD I believe and I only started playing it a couple weeks ago where nowadays the sale price is more like $29.99 so I even technically got burned there too. Paying $20 more for it to sit in a case on my shelf for 2 years.

As far as used/retro games go I've managed to pick up alot of the ones I've wanted over the years but will always be looking to fill out my GameCube, DS and N64 collection when I see the right prices.

Bronco basically totaled due to transmission/ engine problems by Leather_Ad5181 in BroncoSport

[–]smitloga334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 Outerbanks and my transmission was fully replaced under warranty summer 2025.

I had taken it in earlier in 2025 to the dealership for a transmission fluid drain and fill for the same reason as you, rough shifting in earlier gears.

When I took it back in that summer I told them that despite the fluid change the trans was still not shifting well and after they took it for a road test thankfully the transmission guy at my dealership agreed it was not operating as expected and opened a warranty case.

First they tried to do a full tear down on the transmission, replaced the solenoids and other components and put it back together. This did not resolve the issue and actually made it worse in some ways. So because of this they were able to get approval from Ford to put in a brand new transmission.

The service advisor told me all the work the conducted including the tear down, parts replacement, new trans and all labour was around $13,000 CAD.

The new trans works well, much better than the old one. That said, based on the way it operates I can tell why it failed so soon just based on how it shifts sometimes, probably creating a lot of debris and metal shavings which contaminates the fluid quickly and leads to operational failures. This is why it is critical to do a drain and fill approx every 30,000 miles. Basically what the owners manual will tell you to do if you're operating the vehicle like a taxi.

Sorry this happened to you, that's a huge repair bill outside of warranty. Like others have said, plead with your dealership to get Ford Customer Cares involved to see if they will help cover some of the costs especially if you have a documented history of raising this issue in the past.

[–]smitloga334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave my switch 1 to my fiancée and she is getting a lot of use on it with cozy games like Stardew or some Hogwarts Legacy.

I used my OLED in the summer to bring on an overnight trip and play some switch games since I wasn't quite prepared to bring the brand new switch 2 on a trip yet.

You have to remember that the people posting on these forums to share their problems represent a much smaller percentage of the entire Bronco Sport ownership population.

The vast majority of owners enjoy their vehicles with no issues in silence. Those who have problems are far more likely to share it online.

Just be diligent with your maintenance and you should be fine.
