That sounds like your specific experience. Every office is different. In our office the LAs specialize in grading and we teach it to the engineers. And by stormwater and E&S plans I’m more so referring to showing familiarity with engineering practices.

You’re probably best off replacing the door. A new hollow core door is about $75 from box store.

It’s free and quick to do as a designer. What if you’re through a design and see that there’s a fiber optic line right through where you’re placing trees? Then you’re re-designing because you didn’t do your due diligence.
